Yes, I know I keep depressing y'all with stories about horrific crimes against Black women and children. I'll stop talking about them, when idiotic mothers stop leaving their children alone with their violent, murderous, drug using, felonious boyfriends. We know how this ends. Cattie described him to police as a frequent drug abuser who turned violent when high - a man who had choked her, pulled her hair and thrown her to the ground. SOURCE

Y'all Danielle Cattie is Ebony Dorsey's mother. Mark O'Donnel is the mother's drug dealer and boyfriend of four years. Ebony is dead because she has two idiot narcissists for parents. First, the boyfriend was a married man that the mother was having an affair with. Second, he was a crackhead AND a drug dealer ( a drug dealer show uses his own product...hmmm). Third Cattie put her daughter in a situation to be alone with this @$hole! Fourth, Cattie didn't even notice Ebony was missing for almost two days. SCHOOL DAYS! Shut Up all of you who are going to say I am blaming the mother. I AM!! I'm tired of this crap.

Ebony Dorsey's mother's crackhead boyfriend raped, beat and strangled 14 year old Ebony while she was babysitting HIS 4 year-old daughter. Ebony had been driven by her mother's boyfriend to stay overnight at his apartment and watch his little girl.

Ebony Dorsey's body was found Sunday in a plastic container behind a home on Union Meeting Road in Whitpain Township. Tonight police have charged 48-year-old Mark O'Donnell with her death. O'Donnell freely admits he killed 14-year-old Ebony Dorsey. SOURCE

What is ridiculous and sad is that this pitiful excuse for a mother didn't even notice her child was missing until a day later! She was killed Thursday night, her mother didn't report her missing until Friday evening when she didn't return from school. SHE NEVER GOT TO SCHOOL FRIDAY!

Oh yeah and by the way, young Ebony managed to be a successful honors student despite having a cocaine addict for a mother who had a crackhead boyfriend.

Don't expect to see Ebony's story on NBC, CBS, ABC or CNN.

Oh and EBONY'S FATHER isn't much better!

Wait a dayum minute? What you knew about him you didn't like, but you allowed your child to be exposed to this guy? YOU SHUT UP TOO! You're just as culpable. SHE WAS 14 you were supposed to PROTECT HER not just warn her to keep away, IF THAT IS EVEN TRUE. You sir are culpable as well!

Brothers, please for goodness sakes, if yo' baby mama is a crackhead who is coupled up with her drug dealing boyfriend and you have a daughter living in this madness, FIGHT! FIGHT FOR CUSTODY. Drag the mother into court and make her pee in a cup. In many states a positive drug screen for illegal drugs is enough for you to walk away with custody. Fight for your kids. Please for the Love of God. Wage war against these idiotic single mothers who keep handing over their daughters to their boyfriends on a silver platter.

Why the MSM Chooses to Cover Selfishness instead of Selflessness: Alexis Goggins and Robert Hawkins

Mainstream media is once again enthralled with the death of a young, angry, and murderous Caucasian male. While Robert A. Hawkins was preparing to make his mark on human history and SELFISHLY grab 15 minutes of fame by mowing down innocent civilians, Alexis Goggins a 7- year-old first grader from Detroit, MI was SELFLESSLY throwing her body in front of a gun to save the life of her mother. She took six bullets.

Um so tell me what is newsworthy about yet ANOTHER disaffected White male taking psychotropic drugs and committing mass murder before committing suicide? Cue the cameras to the family members who had NO IDEA what a homicidal little maniac was living under their own roof and can't fathom where he got an assault rifle from. Cue the statements from friends, neighbors, and classmates about how quiet or moody or introverted the gunman was. Cue the profilers who basically say , "Yeah, we could have seen this coming." Been there done that.

For those who say that the victims of these mass murderers are newsworthy, I AGREE! however, in the immediate wake of the mass slaughters, the first picture you see repeatedly on every news outlet in every newspaper is that of the KILLER not the victims. Name two victims of Columbine. Name one victim of Virginia Tech. Since these killers are now leaving press kits so that they can speak from the grave, it appears now that the news media has to do some soul searching about the role they are now playing in these homicides. The suicidal attention seekers now know that they'll finally get what they longed for in life by taking a few innocent people with them.

In my humble opinion, the news agencies ought to treat these homicidal young men in the same way that they treat juveniles and victims of sexual assault, REFUSE TO DISCLOSE THEIR IDENTITIES! If people want to know, let them look it up. Refuse to paste their pictures on every front page and news website in America. Yep, they've decided not to divulge the identities of juveniles and sexual assault victims as a matter of editorial policy. I think they need to add a category to the list: suicidal mass murderers.

There is a precedent for NOT covering suicides. In San Francisco, the newspapers stopped covering jumps from the Golden Gate bridge:

For years, local media reported every victim, and the grisly countdown reached a frenzy in 1995 as the 1,000th suicide approached. " The media agreed to stop the count. SOURCE

Why not do the same thing at the national level. Report the deaths, have a media blackout of the suicidal killer.

While mainstream media is basically ignoring the Alexis Goggins on a national level - She can't even get on the Associated Press national wire- the Blogosphere is hailing her a the hero she is and some are contrasting Alexis with Hawkins . A Google News Search brings up only 31 stories about Alexis Goggins. Robert Hawkins ( 5,423). When you type in Alexis Goggins in the Google Blog Search, you get 251 results.

Here is an interesting take on the few articles that have appeared about Alexis- Saying Nothing Charmingly appears to be upset with Fox News' article mentioning that the shooter was Alexis' mother's boyfriend twice. She thinks that it appears that they are blaming the mother:

They chose to start and finish the story with that little piece of information. No mention, though, that she'd already left him, had a restraining order out on him and he had been stalking her ever since. Nope, none of that now.So, here's a question. How many posts does it take to reach the center of the average person's capacity for victim blaming?

Interesting comment. We kind of went into that on the podcast last night. maybe the reason Alexis isn't getting coverage is because they don't find the shooting of Black women and children to be newsworthy... Oops, I'm sorry. We already know they dont.

DETROIT -- A 7-year-old-girl is being hailed as an "angel from heaven" and a hero for jumping in front of an enraged gunman, who pumped six bullets into the child as she used her body as a shield to save her mother's life.

Alexis Goggins, a first-grader at Campbell Elementary School, is in stable condition at Children's Hospital in Detroit recovering from gunshot wounds to the eye, left temple, chin, cheek, chest and right arm.

Little Alexis was shot by her mother's boyfriend, Calvin Tillie, 29, a four-time convicted felon.

On Saturday, Alexis' mother called a family friend, Aisha Ford to come them up from Parker's home because Parker had no heat.

Ford said she drove her burgundy 1998 Ford Expedition to Parker's home on Dwyer. She said as Parker and Alexis walked up to her vehicle she saw a man on the porch, who she assumed was a furnace repairman. She said Alexis, who walks with a limp, slipped momentarily on the icy sidewalk and as she helped the girl up, she saw the man and recognized him as Tillie. He was holding a gun. Tillie ordered them into the vehicle, cursed at the women and angrily told Ford to drive him to Six Mile Road, she said. SOURCE

Aisha Ford wisely concluded that if she made it to Six Mile Road, the four-time cnvicted felon would kill them all so she said she needed gas and they preceeded to a gas station. Ford managed to call 911 while she was walking into the station, but this is DETROIT!

"The first operator clicked off and I dialed again and told that operator a guy with a gun was holding me hostage with a mother and baby and threatening to kill us. I told her the name of the gas station and then she said they didn't have a unit to send." (WTH?!?!?!?!?) SOURCE

Still waiting for Detroit's finest to show up managed to convince the boy genius ( the four-time cnvicted felon) that she needed evev more gas. When she went back into the station, the stations attendant notices she was crying and he called 911 AGAIN when she told him what was happening. That is when they heard shots coming from the car.

The mother pleaded with the gunman, but he shot her in the head and the arm.

Before Tillie could fire again, Alexis jumped over the seat between her mother and the gunman and begged him not to shoot her mother. SOURCE

Then the four time convicted felon "without hesitation" pumped six shots into little Alexis.

After all the carnage, Detroit's finest managed to get there, surround the car. Oh did we mention that a police car was on the street nearby and they came only five minutes after the station attendant's call. I guess the call from a Black woman in Detroit does not merit attention.


Alexis is now in the hospital covered in bandages. She is in special eduation and has a weak left eye as a result of a stroke she suffered as an infant. Doctors had predicted that she would grow up to have difficulty with basic tasks such as writing, but Alexis was now able to write her own name.

The nutjob boyfriend is in jail facing kidnapping, assault with intent to murder, child abuse, felony firearms and habitual criminal charges.

For an instant I was engaged in a momentary case of schadenfreude when I read this story on ABC News.com Sunday morning:

The AP is running a similar story as well. The whole sports industrial complex is in a tizzy:

If Fred Taylor sounds a bit jumpy, somewhat paranoid, even a little desperate ... well, he is.

He's not alone.

Athletes feel as though they're under attack, their luxurious worlds invaded by thugs and hustlers and criminals who want to take them down — or take what they've worked so hard to earn through their skills on the courts and playing fields. SOURCE

There are some poor Black women down in West Palm Beach Florida who can relate to not feeling safe in your own home.

"People are not coming at your average Joe anymore," said Fisher, who called for the NFL to implement stricter security measures to protect players. "They are coming after athletes. People feel like athletes are an easy win. Why not (rob) an athlete?

But I thought the members of the Sports Industrial Complex were all about KEEPING IT REAL- making sure everyone knew y'all were still down with the people in Da' Hood. Well the people in the hood are living in fear too.

I guess as long as it was we "little people" whose blood was running in the streets and living in terror and fear, the glorification of foolishness was just fine and dandy. Anybody remember Carmello Anthony's "Stop Snitching" video? The "Average Joes" would like to say. WELCOME TO OUR WORLD! Sucks doesn't it!

Seems professional athletes are growing tired of the “keeping it real” culture they have been clinging to for the past decade or so. Despite the fact that they are multimillionaires, many have gone out of their ways to emulate the THUG LIFE-style. They were just KEEPING IT REAL!

I didn't start this blog for nothing. The world is changing and not in a good way. We are seeing the results of two decades of absolute insanity begin to show up.

What Did You Expect When We Started Mainstreaming Foolishness?

What did you think was going to happen when you raised a generation of young Black folks to believe that being “upwardly mobile” meant rolling on over to somebody's house and “mobilizing” their property on “up” outta there?

What did you think was going to happen after plunking your kids in front of video games where their objective is to shoot, maim, rape and kill as many human beings as possible?

What did you think when the iconic “entrepreneurs” of these generations of late proudly proclaim themselves to be "hustlers", don't and wear suits and ties, but are 40 and 50 years-old running around in track suits calling themselves CEOs? Then we wonder why a COLLEGE or UNIVERSITY has to initiate a DRESS CODE because its students don't know how to dress for a freaking job interview.

What did you think was going to happen when ridiculous numbers of African American teenagers commit economic suicide and drop out of high school?

What did you think was going to happen when all of these athletes were inviting MTV into their homes so we could see their tacky over the top CRIBS with a plasma screen tv over the commode and gold fish in the floor?

What did you think was going to happen with a couple of generations of under educated, under employed, oversexed people who have been systematically desensitized to violence and have no frame of reference for socially acceptable behavior other than what they can surmise from mainstream popular culture.

What did you think was going to happen when CORPORATE AMERICA decided to mainstream a pro prison, pro pimp, pro drugs, pro crime, pro violence, anti education, anti woman, anti impulse control, anti social culture?

The Cost of Admission into the Mainstream

There used to be a time when we exacted a heavy price in order to be “Mainstream.” Remember Michael Jordan catching hell because he wasn't running around trying to be the next MLK. Although we know he had to be doing all kinds of dirt, he didn't brag about it on the front page of the paper as if he was proud. Why? Because he wanted mainstream money and back then, the mainstream exacted a price. Either fit within our narrow boundaries of socially acceptable behavior, or you will not get our mainstream money. Shut up and play and you will get paid!

Now the same sports media talking heads that love to call the San Antonio Spurs SOFT because Tim Duncan and crew aren't running around throwing up gang signs between scoring points and winning championships are lamenting the plague of violence besetting these multimillionaire ball players who have been obsessed with making sure that the world knew that they were GANGTA' and continuing to embrace the streets that they claim to have come from.

All of a sudden all the conspicuous consumption they wholeheartedly engaged in is coming back to haunt them because folks have been watching MTV Cribs and they want to consume too and they don't mind consuming you and you family to get what they want. There was a time when you didn't let folks know what was up in your house. Everybody couldn't come over and visit. You didn't pull your curtains back during the holidays so the neighborhood could see how nice you Christmas tree was and you made sure that when you got a new TV, VCR, or other electronic device that you cut up the box so folks wouldn't know you got anything new. Or maybe that was just we folks in Da Hood that knew you NEVER flashed money around unless you wanted to have someone take it from you.

Will there always be entertainment that promotes hatred and indifference for the lives of your fellow man? Of course, but it does not have to reside in the mainstream. We can drop kick it into the fringes where it belongs. I hope that with this new cloud hanging over them and their families that all of these poster boys of keeping it real join me and stop funding foolishness.

Stop funding foolishness does not just mean not buying CDs and DVDs and Video Games. It means imposing economic sanctions on large US Corporations that are pumping billions of dollars into an industry that is cannibalizing the African American community.

Excuses. Excuses

Gina, it isn't popular culture, its poverty! - You are wrong. We've always been poor. When you blame poverty for people running around shooting other human beings indiscriminately, you slander the poor. There is no correlation between morality and net worth. If that was the case, some of these multimillionaires would not be running around acting like a bunch of fools.

Gina, its racism! - Wrong again. It is something else. We've always had to deal with racism and we managed to have some kind of moral compass within the community. Our moral authority was one of the greatest weapons of the Civil Rights Movement.

Now I do believe that racism is responsible for polluting the mainstream with these destructive messages. There is no way that if other groups were targeted the way Black women are in popular culture that the likes of Starbucks, Ford, General Motors, Hewlett Packard, Apple Computers, Old Spice and Mountain Dew would be handing out checks. Explain to me how Verizon made Akon its spokesperson despite his conviction on robbery and drug charges? Explain to me how Macy's Department Stores and others are handing over millions of dollars by carrying the clothing, shoes, accessories, and perfumes of men who routinely engage in hate speech and acts directed towards Black women? If ANY OTHER group was being called names and degraded like Black women, they wouldn't get within 100 feet of a Macy's. Remember THAT the next time you go buy a new suit!

Gina, this has been going on forever!- Wrong! There have always been immoral murderous people, but again, they didn't dominate the mainstream. Think about this insanity: The Black multimillionaire that has a baby mama in every city; gets into a knock down drag out fight with his employer's customers in front of the world; got 8 cars with 3 garages; is tatted up and braided down and BLINGED OUT -Well he's from the streets and is KEEPING IT REAL!

But the Black man that has De' Evil 9-5; Who dresses appropriately to carry out his job duties;has a 401 K and is dollar cost averaging instead of trying to get rich quick; has a 5 year plan instead of a 5 minute plan; marries the mother of his children PRIOR TO CONCEPTION; takes whatever honest work he can get today knowing that it might lead to something else tomorrow instead of slanging rocks or hustlin' This Black man is called a CHUMP or a SELLOUT by the mainstream popular culture.

Yes, there have always been murderous thieves, but THEY used to be the ones scorned, not held up as some ideal to achieve (Frank Lucas my arse!- Even Frank knew to keep a low profile and not be running about Bling Blinging). Even then thieves used to have a code of conduct of sorts. Now it is anything goes. Whatever feels good. Do it! There used to be a time when people were embarrassed to be known as a criminal. Now it is a badge of honor. It shows that you are Keeping it REAL!

Gina, you and your solutions are over simplistic. They won't work! - WRONG!!! It ain't that hard. The next time you hear about some huge corporation offering another hooligan or misogynist a multi-million-dollar contract, howl at the moon and watch how quickly they back track. Case in point Twista and McDonalds - Akon and Verizon. Once these idiots realize that if they want the big money they are going to have to meet certain expectations, watch the attitude adjustment. They will still get rich,but not as easily as they are now. Not without access to mainstream money.

Why will it be that easy? Because most of them aren't artists in the first place, they're hustlers (haven't you been listening)who figured out the Entertainment Industrial Complex was a pretty good way to develop a brand name which they could then exploit to make exponentially more than they could ever make selling albums or touring. They make peanuts off of album sales. They don't care about the music. They care about their brand. The music videos and songs are just commercials for their brands. Why do you think certain rappers can't seem to retire? It ain't about the music, it is all about keeping up sales of their tacky clothing lines and they can't do that without a hit album out reminding people that they are still relevant.

If I thought the situation was hopeless, I would have bounced already, moved to a mountain in the Canadian rockies and thrown up the deuce. I am very hopeful. I sense a shift in mood in the Black community. Can you feel it? Now, even the Keeping It Real athletes appear to be all thugged out. As for the length of the posts, there are plenty of blogs where you can go to look at pretty pictures. I visit them myself on a daily basis. THIS ain't one of those blogs.

Raising the Price of Admission into the Mainstream

We can drop kick the foolishness to the fringes. We can raise the price of admission to belong in the mainstream. We can banish the bacchanal buffet of booty shaking into an abyss where it belongs! We don't have to take this crap. We are more powerful that you know and all we have to do is open up our mouths and speak.

What would happen if Black women or for that matter all people who are sick and tired of the foolishness sent a message to department stores that as long as you sell the clothing lines of these purveyors of porn and cultural pestilence we won't be shopping at your store? I bet they'd pull those clothing lines faster than you can say raccoon fur coat! ( It is a shame that a dog in China has advocates willing to take on corporate America and Black women don't. PETA and the Humane Society ain't playin'. Why the heck are we?)

I'm not saying we should do that. I'm just putting it out there.

So to the multimillionaire athletes, welcome to our world. We've been waiting for you. To those of you who, like Fannie Lou Hamer, are sick and tire of being sick and tired, what are you going to do? Are you going to continue to sit on the sidelines lamenting the decline of the Black community, or are you going to fight back? It ain't that hard. I believe our last free market capitalism campaign took about 4 hours to drive some foolishness into the depths of Hell where it belonged. All we have to do is ask. Why aren't you asking for an increase in the price of admission into the mainstream?

Why Aren't the Lives of Black Women Treasured?:

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

While Police were recovering and identifying the body of Latasha Norman, Barack Obama was eating fried chicken in Harlem with Al Sharpton and MSNBC was reporting on the recovery of the body of another college student. It goes without saying that the other college student was not an African American woman otherwise, MSNBC would not have reported on her kidnapping and murder.

In the world of television news, air time is the treasure. The more important the editorial decision-makers believe a story is to them, the more air time will be given to the story.

In the world of politics, political capital is the treasure. The more important a politician believes an issue is, the more political capital, in the form of public statements and legislation, a politician is willing to expend.

When I say important. I don't mean private importance, but public importance. You see the editor making the calls about what goes on cable news may privately care deeply about violence against black women, but made the calculation that they cannot do so in their public lives. A politician may care very deeply about violence against Black women privately, but may do absolutely nothing about it in their public lives.

We aren't voting for a man or woman. We're voting for a President-an administration. I ain't particularly interested in their private lives. What I am concerned about is their public life.
What do they treasure publicly? We can tell what they treasure publicly pretty gosh darn easily because THEY TALK ABOUT WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO THEM!

Regular readers of this blog know that the Universe loves to mock me. I vow never to write about something and then the Universe in its infinite wisdom decides to plop something smack dab in front of my face whose irony and hypocrisy literally dares me to comment on it at 4:00AM.

Now Rev. Renita J Weems would probably tell me that I was naïve, but Renita I really did think that all these people would have to hear were the horrific details of the crime and they would be so moved to action that they would literally trip over themselves to speak out publicly about the horrors. I was stupid and yes, naïve.

So when I woke up this morning and read that while police were trying to identify the body of Latasha Norman, Barack Obama was eating fried chicken at Sylvia's with Al Sharpton and later commented PUBLICLY on the Jena 6 in front of a audience filled with members of The Black Elite Establishment at the Apollo theater on the same day I was like “You have got to be kidding me.” The juxtaposition is insane.

The truth is that while our political leaders may feel bad privately they aren't going to speak out about any of these violent crimes against Black women. Because politically the lives of Black women and girls aren't TREASURED only our votes.

That looks ugly doesn't it. It ain't pretty, but it is the truth.

Dogs and boys – TREASURED.

Black women and girls -NOT.

The politicians have done their mercenary political calculations and have concluded that they can get away with ignoring crimes against humanity committed against African American women in this country. Why? Because they don't treasure our lives. In the political world, the lives of six African American teenage boys are worth more than the lives of a thousand Black women and children.

It's time to change the variables in their equations.

We shouldn't have to beg anybody to do what they have a moral obligation to do. The days of black women begging folks for anything OUGHT to be over. We're in the majority when it comes to Black registered voters. We control over 67% of the 850 BILLION of Black America's dollars. We lead the majority of Black America's households. So tell me why we got to beg anybody to acknowledge our humanity and treasure our lives as much as the live of Black criminal defendants?

Violence against Black women ain't going away. Candidates can either deal with it THIS December or they can deal with it NEXT November, but they will deal with it and they will deal with it publicly. It is of no consequence to me when it happens. CALCULATE THAT!
