800+ Creative Black Women You Can Support on Cyber Monday - Black-Owned Etsy Stores

Um Happy Cyber Monday! In a beautiful display of the diversity and creativity of Black women, Lucette Jefferson compiled a  list of 36 Black-owned Etsy stores.   Even though it originated over at Huffington Puffington, the list was too good to pass up because the list is comprised of some amazingly talented Black women (and men). While Lucette got the list going, the comments section exploded with even more links.

Turns out there is a group called Etsy Artists of Color( EAOC) the also have their own EAOC blog and they have at least 800 Etsy Artists of Color in the group. I'm inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and beauty.

Carol's Daughter and Steve Stoute Still Color Struck and Ashamed of Their Black Customer Base

We've previously noted the anti-Black-woman ranting of Steve Stoute who is the grifter who has seized control of Carols Daughter from poor Lisa Price. That 40 pieces of sliver ain't looking too shiny these days.   Steve "Polyethnic" Stoute as we've previously pointed out is OBSESSED with skin color... and not in a good way.

What's wrong with this product description?

Paradise is at your hands with our Carol's Daughter Gelee de Soleil Browning Oil with SPF 15 . This exclusive, delicious-smelling formula protects your skin from UVA-and UVB rays as it deeply bronzes and hydrates for a long-lasting, sexy, summer tan

Carol's Daughter's Gelee de Soleil Browning Oil with SPF 15 Features:

  • Coconut and pineapple fragrance.
  • Key ingredients include palm kernel oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, mango butter and avocado butter.
  • Active ingredients include Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 4% and Oxybenzone 3%.
  • Made in USA.

Directions: Apply liberally to dry skin before sun exposure and reapply after swimming or after excessive perspiration.

HSN is touting this as "tanning", but the label call's it Carols Daughter "Browning" Oil but the description says its going to bronze my skin. Pandering much?

If you have far too much time on your hands, go read the consumer reviews over at HSN

On another color-obsessed note, Steve Stoute wants to go all Oprah on us like a true narcissist and has launched  "Tanning of America."

In any regard, Black folks can get skin cancer too so stay out of the sun, especially if you're greasing yourself up with olive oil and herbs and roasting like a pina colada flavored turkey with a paltry SPF 15.

Why not just come out with a tanning line, a bronzing line AND a "browning" line? Use the same formula and a different label. Iman sells to a wide range of women and she doesn't do crazy stuff like this.
