Susan Cagle - Search for the Black Taylor Swift Part 9

Who hoo we're at the end of our month-long search to do something other than whine about the incredibly narrow range of music options being promoted by the Entertainment Industrial Complex. In part 9 of our search for the Next Black Taylor Swift, let me present Susan Cagle.

I'm loving her vibe. She's Michelle Branchy and Taylor Swifty. And you have to love that she has a song about Shakespear:

You know the sad truth is that this young woman needs to be picked up by a country label because none of the usual cast of characters in Black music know what to do with her.

Blogmother, you need to stop! :)

Sad but true; I really like her, kind of a soft rock vibe, reminds me of the 70s. Plus I bought Andy Allo's cd "Unfresh." You ought to see me on the train going to work, got my bobbin' back and forth going on! :) :)

I'M IN LOVE!!! She is who I wanted to be in middle school when I used to spend late nights listening to Matchbox 20 and The Wallflowers wishing I could carry a tune so I could start my own rock band. It's refreshing seeing Black women, hell Black people in general, living outside the box of typical Black music. Thank you very much for introducing me to this woman.
