First Episode of Celeste Bright is Up!

WAOD community member Sonya Steele has the first episode in her revolutionary web series up. If you will recall, we mentioned Celeste Bright here several months ago.

Sonya you need to get this on i-Tunes or something its too high quality to languish in the bowels of YouTube. And I'm so angling for a cameo appearance beside Agent Rick Taylor.

Wow! Sonya, that was REALLY well done! The production quality, the background music, the script and the actors. Get it on I-Tunes! =)

How is this revolutionary?
The word's evidently been watered down quite a bit.

Love it Sonya!! My mind feels evolved compared to the incessant garbage that is on television now. Agree with DailyLattes production, sound everything is on point. Keep up the good work!!

I thought it was pretty nice! It looked quite professional. I'm so curious what kind of budget did Sonya Steele have to work with (i.e. what kind of budget can get this good quality?).

I'm sure I have no idea half the work that's needed to produce such a good beginning. Camera work, casting, script memorization, location, and so on and so forth.

All in all, a good beginning. Curious to see the rest.

Miriam,

Thank you for your kind words. In terms of cash money, my budget was about $5,000, which I financed myself. A lot of equipment was provided not only by my friends but by friends of my production team members. It took us from November to March to shot 10 episodes in 11 days, on weekends.

This was a union shoot. All the actors are SAG members, and Judy Dent and I are members of the WGA. Judy is currently a writer on the TV One sit-com "Love That Girl" with Tatayana Ali. My background is drama, having written for the shows, "ER," "Boston Legal," and "The Division."

The professional look is due to very talented and experienced people working together. My cast and crew always brought their A game. They were attracted to the series because of the script, but they were committed because they believed in me, and it's truly wondrous and humbling what one can accomplish with that kind of support.

Sonya,

$5,000 + friend's help. Now that is really inspiring! That is not so far reaching.

"They were attracted to the series because of the script, but they were committed because they believed in me, and it’s truly wondrous and humbling what one can accomplish with that kind of support."

That is so awesome! Bless you for believing in you and for gathering the positive support!! Simply inspiring.

May we all have a hand in bringing good images, entertainment, and messages to each other.

That was a good production for a budget of 5 grand.

Sonya,

I am really impressed. I will send the links to all my contacts. Is there any other way we can support you and your project?

revmamaafrika, Tosha, Noelle E. Sewell, Julie Drizin, blkchik,

Thank you all!

Nicole, the best way to support the series is to share it with others. The more hits (views) we get, the easier it will be to attract financing. With more money, we can produce much better shows.

Episode 2 is up!

Looks good so far!

Dear Sonya,

I am amazed at what I see. Every so often, I have wondered about my old friend with whom I studied for the bar exam, but whenever I searched for you, I came up short. Today, i tried again, and look what I find...such a talented, accomplished woman who has certainly branched out from that first public defender's job! I would have tried to get in touch with you some other way, but is hard getting any real contact info.

I would love to hear from you. Take care and I loved watching the series. All I can say is wow and congratulations...2 years late...but better than never, yeah?
