Many of you are content creators, gaming and app developers and budding media mogulettes. According to the Los Angeles Times, Comcast ( a Blogging While Brown 2010 sponsor) is creating a $20 million venture capital fund to back minority entrepreneurs in developing new media content and technology.
I'm collecting a list of bloggers who are interested in learning more about the fund or who have questions, suggestions, concerns. Friday, I'll be forwarding this on as an indication of the level of interest in funding from Black bloggers. Here is the link to the survey tinyurl.com/2eeue5d
We got a great response over the weekend and some of the questions, concerns, and suggestions are really great. I have no CLUE how this thing is going to pan out, but if you interested in learning more or asking questions, voicing concerns, or making suggestions. Fill out this survey.
As I told some of my blog sisters, one way or another at least $20 million dollars is going to be floating around out there. Every dollar awarded to a Black person with common sense is a dollar denied to The Regime of Bullets, Booty and Bling.
PS. We have a WAOD fan page now look in the side bar.
"Comcast Corp. said it will contribute at least $20 million to a venture capital fund that the cable giant is creating to back minority entrepreneurs in developing new media content and technology.
The move is part of Comcast's effort to ease concerns from minority groups about its proposed deal to take control of General Electric Co.'s NBC Universal. A marriage of the biggest cable and broadband provider with a huge content company has some fearing that there will be a loss of diversity in both in the programming people see and the executives behind the scenes."
