The Blogmother
I was stuck in a cave planning Blogging While Brown and missed that What About Our Daughters was named as one of the favorite blogs of the folks over at TheRoot.com.
All of the people I met from TheRoot this weekend at Blogging While Brown were very nice so we'll just accept the complement and leave things at that :) Yes, we're passionate, what other reason is there to blog? The money? BWAHAHA!
Most of the blogs that made the list are also on my list of favorites. I read most every day. The Root does appear to be making the effort to build connections with Black bloggers and I believe someone tweeted that they were looking for writers.
So I share this recognition with all of my readers! You totally rock! and thanks for behaving during Blogging While Brown I expected to come back to chaos, but even with our current "incursion" (yes, I am well aware of what's going on) y'all have not taken the bait and are having some really interesting discussions. Even though we don't all agree, this is one of the few places where these types of conversations take place. That's a good thing.
I will have some EXTREMELY exciting news next week ...HOPEFULLY. My collaborator and I have been having a hoot and when we get through we'll be making Black Herstory.
I am truly doing what I was called to do right now and am having an absolute BLAST doing it... Did I tell y'all I got invited to visit with folks from the White House last Friday? Its in the Washington Post.

I was wondering when you might say something about the super cool news :-)

Congrats Gina, can't wait for more good news.
Oprah is called the Ms. O.
I should calling you.... Ms. G.
...because you are on the path to being a ONE name mover and shaker.
While this blog may be certainly good news, I would like to know more details in terms of what topics were discussed.
For instance, did anyone bring up the issue of keeping the internet free? What about the access of independent directors and such in the current media market?
Congratulations Gina, on all your successes!
Totally deserved. you rocketh mightily, forsooth.
Enjoy!
Be safe and well.
