MIlwaukee Offers up Mentally Ill Women As Sexual Bait to Soothe Violent Male Inmates-Candidate for Governor Supports!

No. I. DIDN'T . STUTTER!!! What the hey-el is wrong in Milwaukee. This is the same city where 21 men and boys gang raped an 11 year-old girl in plain site of other adults in the same house. And then turned around and GRIPED when the rapists got sent off to jail.
“Five years? Ten years? That’s ridiculous,” said LaToya Bell, 22, sitting on a porch with four others who nodded in agreement. “They (are) getting time for nothing. That girl, she knew what she was doing.“
LaToya Bell, 22 speaking about the gang rape of an 11-year old by up to 20 men and boys.

Well if you thought this was madness, wait until you hear about Milwaukee's solution to control violent male psychiatric patients...bring in mentally ill women. Knowing in advance that these women are going to be sexually assaulted and when confronted with allegations from a federal investigation, this was the response:
Chianelli described the rationale for the county's mixed-gender wards as a "trade-off" that avoided more fights common to all-male wards but increased the chance of sexual attacks in mixed-sex wards, according to De Bruin's letter.

"Going to gender-based units trades violence for sexual assaults," based on his review of psychiatric literature, Chianelli told the panel, according to the letter. JSONLINE

Now why the women of Milwaukee have not demolished this facility brick by brick I will never know. Now the IDIOT elected leadership of this place is pursuing "disciplinary action" against a psychiatrist that thinks rape isn't and act of violence and its a "trade off" in exchange for less violence among male prisoners. Did it not occur to anyone that if you were going to attempt to do such a thing that it should only have been permitted if you could provide sufficient safeguards for all of the patients? And that doing otherwise would be immoral?

But clearly there is NO.POLITICAL. CONSEQUENCE for this idiocy when you have the person running for governor of Wisconsin basically agreeing with this:
County Executive Scott Walker on Monday defended the county's practice of combining male and female psychiatric patients in its locked wards. He said other public psychiatric hospitals in the state have mixed units, except the state's Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison.

"Many experts believe this policy is good for treatment as clients prepare to return to the community," Walker said in an e-mail. He said that policy would be reviewed "to ensure that it is best for the clients."

Walker did not respond to the call for Chianelli's replacement. Walker chief of staff Tom Nardelli, in a written response, said "potential disciplinary action" was under review. He said the County Board leadership had been kept fully informed on mental health issues.JSONLINE

Well clearly YOU should not be engaging in this practice because YOU cannot insure the safety of these women you're experimenting with. Why are women being sacrificed to help prepare male patients to "return to the community?" You can visit Scott Walker's Campaign Site Here and share with him your thoughts on the morality of making women sacrificial offerings. Let me help you, here's the email:

If you want a clear theme for your comments it should be..A) Boot Chianelli, B) suspend the program immediately until adequate safeguards are in place, C) there is no "acceptable" level of sexual assault, AND.... D) WOMEN ARE NOT BAIT! I've already sent my note. Stand up for these women are in the most vulnerable of circumstances. This is being done to them because official KNOW no one will care. They are likely poor, mentally ill, and kept behind the walls of an institution headed by a man that doesn't think sexual assault is violence. This is a crime against humanity.

Melissa over at Shakesville summed it up well:

A "trade-off." Sure. Spoken like a true believer in the idea that no one gives a f#@*&^ about female psychiatric patients, anyway—so might as well hand them over to the male patients who will be less inclined to be aggressive toward one another if they've got vulnerable, unprotected women to rape. Heaven knows we wouldn't want those men hurting themselves, or each other, or one of the facility staff. You know, people who matter.Shakesville

hat tip to Angry Black Woman and Shakesville. SEND YOUR EMAIL ALREADY and I am definitely considering donating to Mr. Walker's opponent.

How does a person with absolutely NO CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER become the Chief executive of the state's Mental Health system?

DC just paid several million dollars to the the family of a man who was killed by another patient because the hospital staff of St. Elizabeth's Hospital failed to pur safeguards in place that protected vulnerable patients from those prone to violence.

So if I am to understand Mr. Chianelli's rationale, rape isn't a violent act. The families of women in the state's mental health hospitals should be reatining counsel now. I envision liability lawsuits galore and a state that's already in the red going bankrupt from having to pay out so many damage claims.

I am stunned by this! Why haven't we HEARD anything about this? Basically, Milwaukee is telling all women (not just the mentally ill) that rape is no longer a crime.

This is sick and I am disgusted!

I was just addressing this with some relatives last week. How unsupervised mentally unstable women are at higher risk of being mistreated, sexually and physicallly abused and used. I see their no safer in a mental health unit either.

ARE THEY SERIOUS? Has there been an uproar against this? Where's Rev. Messy Jackson and Rev. Al? Where's N.O.W.? The sororities? ACLU? Wisconsin State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (and Sexual Assault)?
Just when I thought nothing could surprise me . . . well except for that dam interview Lawrence Taylor's wife gave the other day. :( :( :(

Just so we're clear, Chianelli is a glorified hospital secretary. He is NOT a clinician, has NO clinical expertise whatsoever, and SHOULD NOT BE in the position to make decisions regarding patient care.

He is not a psychiatrist and I haven't met one yet who would make such a stupid and patently offensive statement regarding improper patient-patient contact/assaults.

This doesn't dismiss the fact the state of Mental Health systems are in dire straits. The violent male patients are as sick as the mentally ill vulnerable women and both deserved to be treated for their illnesses and conditions - just not in the same space.

I was so disgusted when I read this story. I have tweeted it to all of the feminist/womanist accounts. If we keep making noise, they will have no choice to be accountable!

Here is a list of all the candidates for GOV in WI, I will personally make a donation to Walker's opponent. I will also be emailing this post to the to the state democratic party (Walker is a Republican).

someone needs to "greet" him at the meeting; anybody here live in the area? just like some women recently did in Maryland; they protested a judge who cut a convicted child rapist time from 30 years to 16.

AND THE CHILD WAS 4 YEARS OLD . . . . . . :( :(

I have absolutely no words for this but pure, unadultered, sorrowful horror. How can they even *think* of doing something like this?? The Devol is definitely busy.
