Russell Simmons and Global Grind -Multimedia MRSA- Black Flesh Eating Virus

So y'all finally figured out that Russell Simmons is robbing Black bloggers blind by taking WHOLESALE copies of your blog posts, images, links and all an reproducing them on the Global Grind or as I like to call it Global Slime website. Why are you surprised that a group of men who've gotten very rich off of exploiting other Black people would engage taking the equivalent of photographs of YOUR WORK and reproducing it without paying you.
Unfortunately, Global Grind has adopted a deplorable strategy that includes copying content from other publications in full, submitting said content to Google News and placing links to the original content behind frames.Patrick O'keefe

It’s funny how this strategy of content scraping fits in so well with Simmons’ reputational history, isn’t it? Is it intentional or just ignorance? I remember when I first got my hands on a copy of XXL Magazine’s Best Hip-Hop Blogs issue. Content and appreciative as I was to see our site included, damn it if it didn’t make my stomach churn to see Global Grind listed right next to us, and in addition to that, Simmons’ grill smiling right at me. I wish I didn’t misplace that issue so I could ritualistically burn it when I try out my new fireplace. Grand Good

Below is a collection of links with information about how you can go over Global Slime's head and strike a blow for every Black person that's ever purchased some over priced Baby Phat or had the misfortune of paying for a "Rush Card."

You don't have to allow Global Slime to rob you blind. What they are doing is called scraping. That's different from linking to your post, they are basically reproducing your blog post on another site?

Why? because these people are not creative. They are blood sucking leeches and they've gotten themselves attached to your neck.   Like a flesh eating virus, the only way to deal with the folks who run Global Slime is to carve out chucks of flesh... remove the rot. otherwise, you die.

This is the WORST type of exploitation and is indicative of Russell Simmon's ethics. Like his exploitative prepaid debit cards, this is clearly yet another example of a man who believes in exploiting other Black people.

For information about how you can beat Global Slime about the head and strike a blow for generations of Black innovators who were ROBBED BLIND you can read this very helpful post at Plagiarism Today.
Below are the six steps to detecting and stopping misuse of your content on the Web:

    Lord.

And XXL and King are such august publications. The bright side is that the only content being stolen is likely about new styles of athletic shoes, who has the phattest booty and dispatches from Lil Wayne in Rikers Island. No biggie...lol

@Chris You not right! They have scraped some WAOD posts before, but my objective is to have my thoughts EVERYWHERE. I want people taking my blog posts and reproducing them from the mountains to the valleys to the hilltops etc.

@ Gem2001..question? So when they scraped your post did they even give you credit? a byline? somthing?

Wasn't this all originally called "sampling" 30 years ago?

    April 30, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterZabeth

Lol's @ Zabeth yeah it was except i believe the folks who owned the music you sampled got a cut of your profit.I'm assuming i don't know a whole lot about the industry.

@post I KNEW IT!I KNEW IT!I KNEW IT. i only visited that site like 5 or 6 times but everytime I went there they NEVER had their own content unless it was about Russel his brother neices and nephews etc. That is why I stopped going there it was all information and gossip from other blogs.ALL of it.I already knew that Russ had to be getting paid to be doing that blog.I knew that it was not just some random hobby he picked up and it seemed unfair to me that he was getting paid off other folks material but I figured i'd just let them get all in a tizzy about it.As most of the sites he'd mentioned were hip hop blogs and most of them like the music are degrading and hating on bw.I felt they were getting what they deserved and since he has been apart of hip hop they should check their own.If I would have thought he stole from someone important like you Gem I would have pointed it out and said something.

How'sa about an independent or group lawsuit or something.Did you copyright your material? Was what he did legal?Even if it was i'm sure if enough bloggers can come together that this scraping can be outlawed or something.I don't know much about this scraping and law stuff so bear with me.In my simple little mind it's like "okay this guy stole something from you all so sue 'em" (shoulder shrug).I know it may not be that simple though.

Honestly there's tons of black bloggers who steal others bloggers work in general . This one guy started a blog using all the content off my site. And many bigger bloggers who get tons of traffic have taken content from my site without linking back. I've also seen my content on global grind so everyone in general should stop stealing content.

    Never heard of Global Grind.

Maybe old Russ is regressing back to his 1980s crush grove days when he use to rip people off to avoid getting beat up by the ghetto man...

I cannot imagine why Simmons or anyone else would want to take blog postings from other sites, probably black or you would not be whinning about it, and post these on their own site. For what purpose?

Has Simmons hired someone to clean up the poor English grammar, poor sentence structure ("!" marks used in place of the "."), run-on sentences, no periods at the end of senteces, poor use of contractions, no
capital letters to indicate the begining of sentences, or the use of all capital letters, and on and on.

Even a foreign language translator can't make out what most of these posts are about.
