You Need to Chill Out: The "OM A Day Campaign"

The Blogmother
As the followers of my Black Ops Twitter account know, I've been holding twittertantrums because I have to give up table salt. In addition to my lovely new low sodium diet, I'm also attempting various relaxation techniques. I've got an acupuncture session on the list. I've purchased the new agey music. I've done the requisite daily brisk walk. Many of you probably need to give up the salt as well, but we'll talk abou that later when I finish grieving my Chic-Fil-A.
Anywhoo many of us need to make a conscious effort to CHILL OUT. Which requires putting yourself first. September is National Yoga Month. Who knew? Loyal WAOD reader and the Queen of Social Media Conferences, Ananda Leeke is running a campaign called the " OM A Day Campaign"
You should check it out. Ananda always looks extra special relaxed when I run into her so it definitely works.

Hi Gina,
you may be interested in a quick read I posted about http://blackfirewhitefire.blogspot.com/2008/05/black-jewish-meditation.html" rel="nofollow">humming.
Thanks Gina for the OM Love!
new age music zzzzzzzzz. Maybe you should try smooth jazz, I started listening to that when I gave up on hip hop a few years ago. Check out Esperanza Spalding, she is a sista who plays the bass, very rare.
Hey Gina!!
Four years ago, my mom was diagnosed with having a kidney function of 4 - at 5 you have to go on dialysis.
She also had to give up salt and all foods that had a high level of potassium. Thru a lot of education and even more trial and error, we changed her diet, got rid of the extra salt, and as of now she is still at a 4 and still not looking at dialysis.
You can do it - you have to!! As for the meditating, I have been doing it for the past two years - it works. Even if it is for 10 or 20 minutes. Make sure you get a mantra - Mine was "Gerard Butler" for a while!
Good luck to you!
Hey gina!
Buffalo, NY.
Father wants son's beating treated as a hate crime
Milligan's father believes several African-Americans beat his son, who is white, because he is dating an African-American woman.

My ex-gf is black. I'm white. You wouldn't believe the crap we used to hear in ATL. It seemed like I was having to practically throw down every time we were out. We broke up because of other reasons but that nonsense gets old....fast.
Thanks for posting. I'm a fitness nut and a little surprised that this post has so few comments. We can't campaign for the future if we are not here, and many of us are dying as a result of poor health choices. Congrats on your lifestyle changes.
Dani, I thought the same thing - If we are healthier, alot of the things that we are spending healthcare dollars on would be obsolete.
In my haste, I forgot to give Gina the books that I went to for sodium restricted diets and living! Will do a post and email it to you!
Again, good luck and take it easy!
I feel you Gina, except my issue was high cholesterol. :-| But it HAS to be done. Best wishes to you.
