Satan Says Chris Brown NOT Posessed By "The Devil"?:Doesn't Remember Beating the Hell Out of Rihanna
Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 8:31AM
The Blogmother
I can't make this mess up. Chris "Beat Her Down" Brown can't "remember" beating the hell out of Rihanna. Okay, he says he does remember, but his forgetfulness was taken out of context.
I guess he "Blacked out" or one of his "personalities" took over. What an incredibly INSULTING and DEMEANING AND DEHUMANIZING thing for this little twit to say. "Hey I beat the hell out of you and sent you to the hospital and that was so insignificant to me that I can't remember."I mean I guess we should be happy he didn't say the "Devil Made Him Do It." Oh oh. You know what this means. Anytime you get ridiculous statements issued in an attempt to avoid personal responsibility from famous people who should know better that means another episode of.... WAOD's:DISPATCHES FROM HEAVEN AND HELL!
September, 2, 2009, BURNING LAKES OF FIRE, HELL (AP) Today, Satan issued an unprecedented statement disclaiming responsibility for a bad act in advance of it being publicly blamed on "The Devil."
"In light of some previous defamatory statements from the likes of Ted Haggard and Bishop Thomas Weeks, VIII, I felt it imperative to disclaim any responsibility in advance of being blamed by Christopher Brown for his violent attack on Rihanna. While Mr. Brown has not yet blamed me or any of my employees, subcontractors or vendors for the attack, we became concerned that he might when transcripts from his appearance on the American television show, Larry King Live indicated that he said that he couldn't quite remember his violent acts."
Satan went on to complain that often when individuals do no wish to take personal responsibility for their own actions, they Blame him and his employees.
"In our experience such improbable public disclaimers of responsibility are typically followed by blaming me. " Satan went on to express frustration at repeatedly defending Hell and its emissaries from being held culpable for the actions of others.
"I mean, how many times do we have to go over this whole "free will" thing with you people? Sometimes a violent jerk is just a violent woman-hating coward. Why do people always assume that [WE ] are in possession?"
Satan went on to state equivocally that no demons were in possession of Chris Brown's soul at the time of the vicious attack.
"Let me be clear. When Christopher Brown attacked Rihanna, neither I nor any of my employees, subcontractors or vendors were in possession of his soul. I can state unequivocally that this attack was not the result of being possessed by demonic spirits. "
Satan indicated that all of his demonic spirits have an alibi and were otherwise occupied at the time of the attack.
"Yes. yes. At the time of the attack all of my demonic spirits were busy working on the Fall line up of the BET Networks. In addition, they were going through drafting some timely relationship advice for the June 2009 issue of ESSENCE magazine. We've got some relationship advice to DIE for!"
Satan then plugged his emissaries latest work.
"Have you had a chance to see Frankie and Neffie? Brilliant isn't it? I didn't think we could top Tiny & Toya."
We attempted to reach Heaven for comment. A spokesperson issued the following statement
I hope you found this entire DISPATCH from Heaven and Hell as preposterous as Chris Brown not "remembering" beating the hell out of another individual, being arrested, and going to jail.

King, whose interview airs on Wednesday night on CNN's "Larry King Live," asked Brown if he could remember the event, and the singer told him "no."
"I just look at it like, wow, I'm in shock, because, first of all, that's not who I am as a person, and that's not who I promise I want to be," Brown said in a video posted on CNN's website. "So when I look at the police reports or hear about the police reports, I just don't know what to think."

You gotta write your own sketch comedy show Gina...seriously that was funny and BRILLIANT!!
The boy is not even a good liar. Not sure why he bothered to go on the show if he was not going to man up and take responsibility for his actions.
FAIL.
BTW - this write up was quite entertaining. LOL
Thanks for this! This is so funny and Lord knows I needed this after everything with DV and West Palm Beach, Florida.
BTW, why does Chris have his mommy with him while he does an interview? :(
Perhaps he should be restrained and allow Rihanna to show him the same "love" that he showed her that resulted in bruises, cotusions, busted lips, black eyes and fractures.
A bowtie never gives a good impression. Looks as if hism mom dressed him.
Did he think if he dressed like Steve Urkel folks would think he has a gentle soul? And I heard that his mother said that she didn't think her abusive marriage had any effect on Chris. He said in one interview before the incident that when he was a kid he was so afraid of his stepfather that he would urinate on himself. With adults in his life who don't take responsibility and are living off of him, no one is going to tell him what he needs to be told and get him the help he needs. He needs to fire his lawyer and his PR people. Did they even prep the guy for an interview
As an atheist black woman I found this particularly hysterical! I, myself, did a write up on my blog (found here: http://ainajaharah.com/blog/2009/08/29/i-guess-their-god-hates-rihanna/) about brown's mother trying to shift the blame of beating Rihanna to a bloody mess away from her son, and onto some kind of work of god.
She said the whole incident wasn't about brown, but that it was an act of god to show everyone his greatness. Say what?!
My write-up is also about how religion, a very prominent aspect of the black community, gets in the way of black men (and women) taking responsibility for their actions. One commenter even defended brown & his mother because she was could not see the message for the trees. She was offended that I "said something bad" about her god and not even remotely disturbed that brown & his mother were in denial.
This atheist SURVIVOR of abuse by way of a DBR-BM thanks you for a good laugh.
@ blkchik, I was thinking the same thing. I wish many of these celebrities would just stop giving interviews. You know what they say about negroes and microphones . . . . . . :(
At this point I'm pissed because Chris Brown was the most famous person from Tappahannock, Virginia, and now that's all ruined (my family is originally from not too far from there.) But the best crab cakes anywhere in the word are *still* in Tappahannock, at Lowery's.
SNIP
Satan indicated that all of his demonic spirits have an alibi and were otherwise occupied at the time of the attack.
SNIP
LOL.
@ Aina, I feel ya; I'm embarassed to say it's always us Christians that give J.C. a bad name. :) :)
Gina, your creative writing skills are excellent. :)
Honestly, I think his media parade needs to end.
I was listening to Tom Joyner today.
And the number of female listeners who called in to say he must forgive Chris Brown and play his records.
And that Rihanna hit him first so it was okay.
Scary how we value BWs lives so cheaply.
What's up with the bow tie and shirt??? Why would he interview if he doesn't remember??? This was a pointless interview if you all of a sudden got amenisa.
Great write up, as usual! I don't think any of us believe that Chris Brown doesn't remember what happened. His momma should have helped him prepped for his little interview better. As for the bow tie...don't ya'll think this is his attempt to look like a good little guy again.
As for the Tom Joyner show, I'm not surprised females are the first in line to give this guy a pass. Not all of the music being bought to degrade women is bought by men.
At the moment, they are just willing sheep to the slaughter or simply asleep at the wheel. Regardless, it doesn't help our cause.
@Ivyalf Hearing stuff like that makes me want to pack up, head tot he mountains and dig a moat.
Gina, you DO need to create a sketch comedy show! This was s funny!
I didn't watch the interview, but did read quotes. I was undone when he said he didn't remember the incident. How do you forget holding a steering wheel with your left hand and beating someone about the face with your right fist? No memory? Really?
The outfit was a bit much, and oh so subtle, right. Not surprised his mama was with him. She probably still burps him after dinner, too.
Thanks for the laugh.
@Sharifa are you going to take over blogging for me so I have time to write other stuff? I know I know. I'm working on some stuff, but first I have to figure out how to treat my blogging addiction.
Can't stop laughing and it is so true.
LOL
I'm sorry that bowtie was so distracting I had to rewind the video because I thought I missed him saying something of importance.....oh......no he really is just rambling and his mother too....
Thanks for the comic relief with your memo from "down below".
Seriously, I got a creepy feeling of de ja vu when I watched that video clip. It was just a week earlier that we saw a clip of one of the DV criminal's mother and friend sitting side by side making excuses. Once again this just proves that low income does not = moral decay. Chris Brown makes how much money a year and he refuses to face up to his actions.
bwahahahahahahaha oh gosh, i'm sorry but you shole is funny!.......I am still angry because young african american women are still supporting Chris anyway.I was just listening to the Tom Joyner morning show and a young 17 year old AA girl called into his show asking him why won't he play CB's music when Rihanna may have provoked him to beat her up.Tom Joyner just refused to play CB's music but says he will one day.The thing that made me mad about her comments was she kept saying we don't know if Rihanna hit him first which is why people should still support CB.Neither the police report,Rihanna's testimony,or Chris' testimony say that Rihanna hit him first that night.Yet people are still willing to blame the victim. As a bw I am so upset to know that we have so many self defeating women in our "community".As bw,oftentimes, we have no protection or covering when it comes to our character being defamed and our femininity being attacked inside or outside of our communities.BM are at least protected IN our "communities".There is always someone willing to excuse and give a pass to bm in the black "community" for their negative behavior, this includes bw.Whether it's children born oow, child neglect, drug crimes, violence it has been proven time and time again that no matter what negative situation a bw is in their will be no passes/excuses given or protection for her.Even in situations where bw were proven innocent of accusations against them they still had NO support before or after the situation. There certainly is a such thing as bm priviledge. It happens in the black "community" alot.I see it everyday.
I just finished watching the Chris Brown interview on Larry King. I am disappointed but not surprised he was not more forthcoming. Why then is he doing an interview? I understand not wanting to give TMI, especially about Rihanna, but several times he squirmed when King asked direct questions. Oh well.
But how the h--- can you not remember committing this crime? If you don't remember, then what did you plead quilty to? And if you are a man, or trying to be a grown man, then why bring your mommy to an interview? To hold your hand?
As for Tom Joyner, I heard his show too, but he gets no pass from me either. He has notoriously made sexist, demeaning comments about women and his female co-host, Sybil, merely giggles right along with him. For example, his comments about and to Juanita Bynum, his blowing off men who been on the show talking about men's responsibility in ending violence against women, his jokes about men who cheat and most recently, his trifling comments about the sister in South Africa, the track star, who was attacked by demands that she prove she is a woman, etc. Lord help us all! :(
This is the funniest damn thing--I really needed this today!!
So the devil made him do it and then God was there to catch him as he was being arrested?
Once again religion, particularly the Xtian religion is used as a scapegoat for an individual's reprehensible and criminal behavior.
Even worse is the constant nagging from black men AND women to embrace this foolishness!
Gina, I live in Atlanta and there is a story about a young Spelman student being shot and killed this morning. I hope you will focus some of your stories on Atlanta, the so-called black mecca. A lot of black women and girls have been killed or critically injured around here lately.
We need people like you to keep these issues in the forefront.
Shell write it up, provide the links to it and I'll probably publish it. You have the same ability to tell people what is going on as I do. If it distressed you enough to leave a comment, then it should distress you enough to write a brief summary of events and provide links where people can learn more. I can't and won't do everything.
Shell and Gina,
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090903/ap_on_re_us/us_student_killed
The same that can be said for Atlanta can be said for every other city. College safety is also an issue and not a black college issue. Most colleges in urban areas seem to be in the hood. I went to a predominately white school that was down the street from the projects. I never actually walked off campus the whole time I was there. It was either car or bus off the campus for me.
I believe Chris Brown really does not remember doing the beat down. He doesn't remember it because he doesn't want to be responsible for it. Perhaps he pled guilty because someone advised him to plead guilty.
The fact that he does not accept responsibility for his actions in light of all of the evidence tells me he should be locked up, not getting away with community labor and probation.
The bow tie make him look even more foolish.
Gina, you are a great comedy writer!
@ Urbanbydesign, people shouldn't be so judgmental. Nobody is without sin. Chris Brown deserves to be forgiven if he truly asks for it. Its a shame that people believe that there is no such thing as forgiveness. Rihanna did not deserve to be beaten or held subject to violence, but if she can forgive him than we should too. Christianity is also about love and forgiveness. Forgiveness for those who have repented. Chris should repent of his ways. Nobody is perfect, we all need to repent.
“Yes. yes. At the time of the attack all of my demonic spirits were busy working on the Fall line up of the BET Networks. In addition, they were going through drafting some timely relationship advice for the June 2009 issue of ESSENCE magazine. We’ve got some relationship advice to DIE for!” I absolutely love this. LOL
Don't forget that he works for the VH1 network.
ding ding ding only it took only 34 comments
anabele,
That's my problem with religion. You people ARE judgemental. Judging us or anyone who think that Chris Brown should be in the 9th level of hell with a gasoline g-string on is hypocritical. CHRIS HASN'T ASKED FOR FORGIVENESS BECAUSE HE DOESN'T THINK, BELIEVE, OR REMEMBER doing something wrong.
Jail would have provided a more poignant reminder than an interview futher absoving himself from any responsibility for beating the hell out of Rihanna.
Nobody is perfect, but not all of us are abusers either! I distinctly remember some parts of Christianity being about justice for the innocent and ounishment for the wicked. Chris needs an a$$ whooping.
I believe in forgiveness and I also believe people can change, but there's a difference between asking people to forgive you and asking people to continue buying your music. If C. Brown is looking for forgiveness from the "public at large", he's looking in the wrong place. He doesn't need our forgiveness. That's between him, Rhianna, God and whoever else matters to him.
I can only assume these interviews are a means for repairing is public image and getting back his career. If that's the case, he should have just moved on after the 1st apology because this interview certainly did not serve his interest. Having your mother and your lawyer sit by your side while you evade questions does not help your case. There are plenty of legendary artists out there with less than favorable private lives, however many people have learned to separate the art from the artist. That has changed however, since today's celebrities are in the business of selling their personality, not art. This is how we end up with these insane public apology tours.
What I found most striking about the interview was when he alluded to being annoyed at the fact that he was sentenced to manual labor for his community service requirement instead of being allowed to go speak to kids. I love how every celebrity thinks they need to be giving advice to someone else's child.
It just keeps getting interested...Chris is a bit upset at Oprah as well.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32681828/ns/entertainment-gossip/
In the new issue of People magazine, Chris Brown says he felt like Oprah Winfrey’s show about domestic violence, which was dedicated to “all the Rihannas of the world,” and aired after he assaulted ex-girlfriend Rihanna, was a “slap in the face.”
[Quote from Chris in response to her show on domestic violence dedicated to the Rihannas of the world]
“I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face,” Brown told People. “I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could’ve been more helpful, like, ‘OK, I’m going to help both of these people out.’”
@ annabele, respectfully, when I first read you post, I had to immediately get up from my desk at work and take a 10 minute break outside the building. But now I'm back . . .
FIRST, your attitude is precisely why so many DAs across this country don't want a lot of women on juries when the defendant is a man accused of domestic terrorism(violence), rape, stalking, etc. against a woman. So quick for "forgiveness", but slow at a sense of justice and holding criminals accountable. How sad.
SECOND, let's put to rest for once and for all this nonsense about "not being judgemental." When you make a decision, you are making a judgement, PERIOD. But what values, world view, self esteem, etc., guide our decisions, judgements? Pertaining to Chris Brown, many are making a "judgement" about him because of some "judgements" or decisions he made about himself, Rihanna and violence. And certainly we know that J.C. made a series of judgements when he chased the money-changers out of the temple with a stick. Not a pool stick to play games, but a big stick to whup some heads. :)
THIRD, you bring up "forgiveness." In the city where I live, I've done domestic violence work off and on for 9 years and I've also developed a workshop/discussion called, "The Church and Domestic Violence: Who Can Be Saved?" that I facilitated at several churches. I use the Bible and some books on this topic written by preachers, one of which is "Domestic Violence: What Every Pastor Needs to Know" by Rev. Al Miles. He has an interesting chapter on forgiveness; it is not instant like coffee, it is a complicated process over a period of time and certainly it is nothing like what you suggested in your earlier post. In situations like this, forgiveness is best done from a distance.
LASTLY (I apologize for being so long), my heart almost stopped when C.B. said he was getting help from his mommy, his spiritual leaders, etc. Since we also know most preachers in this country have little to no domestic violence training, I hope these people know exactly what to do. This is why so many of us were up in arms when P. Diddy "invited" them both to his house. A really smart lawyer could have accused P. Diddy of witness tampering; and you never, NEVER bring the victim and the abuser together in any sort of counseling session or "just a place to get away." It makes it seem like they both are responsible for Chris's violence. And we know that ain't true. Annabele, I pray you will find a d.v. program, rape crisis hotline, etc., to volunteer and/or get training. It would be a blessing to you 'cause if you make comments again like the one you did earlier, you will simply remind people why it's always us Christians that give Christianity a bad name. :(
As a Christian, annabele's responses caused me some concern as well. Primarily because it seems she and others equate forgiveness as some sort of reinstatement, which would not, in my opinion, be the case. This was apparent in the DV case, too.
You can forgive people, but you can't remove the consequences of the act. I mean if you have a cheating husband or wife, you can forgive them, and remain with them, but it may take years to regain the trust that you once had. The trust isn't gone because you didn't forgive them, the trust is gone as a consequence of the act of cheating.
If someone you know steals money from your purse, you may forgive me and no longer speak of the incident. But, you may also take the extra effort to take your purse with you the next time.
Even when you forgive there are consequences that remain. I don't really feel "I" have anything to forgive Chris Brown for...he made a despicable decision to beat a woman. I don't really listen to a lot of secular music anymore, (probably more of a factor of my age than my belief system - it just seems like kiddie music to me).
But, I probably wouldn't continue to buy his music, if I had been one of his consumers. I would simply have a hard time "enjoying" his music knowing this about his background. Why should I help him get rich?
His mother is an interesting player in all of this. My mother would have told me to go somewhere and sit down. Clearly different types of mothers. LOL.
I agree, this is really a fine, funny piece of writing! Congratulations.
But don't let God off the hook -- that sort of evasive half-denial is a dead giveway. Just read Ezekiel 16, for instance,
"And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare."
I seem to recall that some of the other prophets received this sort of misogynist viciousness in their exclusive interviews with the Man Upstairs. For those who think the New Testament is nicer, read the Whore of Babylon part of the Revelation. (And don't let anyone excuse this stuff by saying that Yahweh only beats up bad women who deserve it. That's Chris Brown's excuse too, isn't it?)

Actually, the naked woman in Ezekiel 16:39 is a metaphor for Jerusalem, the capital city of Judah, Israel's Southern Kingdom. Like the rest of Judah, the people of Jerusalem by the 6th Century BC were fully engaged in all sorts of evil: worshiping false gods, child sacrifice, sexual immorality, prosecution of the innocent, etc. (Boy, this sounds familiar.)
God had had enough and declared via the prophet Ezekiel that Judah would be conquered by the Babylonian Empire. (The Northern half of Israel already fell to the Assyrian Empire.) It's the Babylonians who "strip" Jerusalem and Judah of their pride, freedom, and wealth because they turned their backs on God. Israel wouldn't be restored as a country until after World War II.
In short, God does not support misogyny against women in any shape or form. However, he DOES level entire countries whose people break His laws and refuse to repent of their sins.
Well, if Chris Brown can "forget" he beat the shyt out of Rihanna, while driving, with ONE HAND...
Then I guess it is only fair that those who buy his records forget how he used to top the charts and just write him off as another DBR who can't man up even if he wanted to.
I agree with Yme and RevMamaAfrica. I'm so tired of hearing the excuse that those 2 were young. They're 20. At 20, many of us were foolish, but not violent. I was never really a fun, I won't be buying his music. I can not support a violent person. But I guess I am one of those haters he was talking about.
Additionally listening to him speak was painful. He needs a diction coach and several Toastmaster meetings. Whoever his tutor was needs to lose any certification they hold.
Toastmaster's have high standards for training people to speak in public.
I don't think they would want Chris Brown as a member, since he forgets a whole lot of stuff and all.
Fred, #43: "In short, God does not support misogyny against women in any shape or form. However, he DOES level entire countries whose people break His laws and refuse to repent of their sins."
I'd imagine those "entire countries" include more than a few women. But if those women "break His laws", I guess it's okay to kill and rape them and carry them off into slavery, eh? Yahweh even regulates the rape of comely female captives in Deuteronomy somewhere, I'm sure you know the verse.
Look, I know that the woman in Ezekiel is an allegorical figure for Jerusalem; that's not the point. The point is that the Bible uses sexual violence as a metaphor for the righteous punishment of people who've misbehaved. Which means, if you consider the Bible to be a reliable picture of your god, that he considers sexual violence a positive metaphor for his conduct. The Bible depicts Yahweh as a violently abusive husband/lover, with all the classic tendencies of an abuser. Of course the Christian god supports "misogyny against women" (what would "misogyny against men" be, I wonder?) -- that's what this passage, and others like it, embody.
And you're an enabler, just like all the Chris Brown fans who defend his violence: it wasn't his fault, the bitch deserved it, she brought it on herself, she probably hit herself in the head to make Chris look bad. I'm sure Yahweh appreciates the support; your reward in heaven will be great.
Can someone explain why is Chris Brown trying to harass, bad mouth Oprah Winfrey? Why is he still whining about Oprah, about how she "owes" him? :(
Because he's so self centered...he still doesn't really get it. He can't conceive of why people would be so upset with him. So tell me. What kind of apology can he really give?
How dare Oprah OVERLOOK HIS AGONY in all of this? That's what this Chris Brown/Oprah current saga is about. It's all about Chris. Let him buy his own records.
I.
LOVE!!!
IT!!!
I am jet-lagged and late reading this, but I am SOOOO sharing this shit! I LOVE IT!!!!! :-)
Forgot to mention - his mother is out of her DAMN mind. As someone who lived in a home with domestic violence, I know good and hell WELL that it affected me. Unfortunately my mother is JUST like CB's mother and has said the SAME thing, so I keep her at arm's length and sought out my own help/healing. But I digress. :-/ :-| His mother is typical of many mothers (mine included) who love their sons and worship them as princes, while treating their daughters (and girls/women in general) like Cinderella. :-|
Also forgot to mention that what he said about Oprah lets me FURTHER know that he is out of his GOT-DAMN mind too.
I really just can't with people anymore. :-|
This story shows how domestic violence sometimes escalates to murder. I hope the Haitian authorities deport this husband/father of the slain family to the United States.
