Poindexter jury deliberating, Walker closings now in Dunbar Village trial

The verdict form. The verdict form.

The jury that will decide the fate of Tommy Poindexter for his horrible mistake at Dunbar Village two years ago is in the jury room.

With them are the jury instructions, the verdict form, and the evidence.

Now Assistant State's Attorney is telling the second jury, for co-defendant Nathan Walker:

"He was excited to do this...to have a night out on the town."

"Do not leave your common sense aside," she says, concluding the state's case against the first two of the four teens to be tried, among 10 alleged participants in the violent rape attack on a mother and son, after two years.

"This was a wilding of the highest order."

"mistake"? A mistake is when you take a right turn instead of a left. Not when you violently rape, beat and sodomize another human being.

I'm truly alarmed and incredulous at the term 'mistake' as well. A premeditated, concert attack of the highest order can not be construed as a 'mistake'. SMH

The word "mistake" is entirely inappropriate to use in this instance. These boys terrorized this woman and her son for hours ...and still none of them seem to have the decency or remorse to expose the other perpetrators.

Yes the inherent lack of judgement in, compassion for and dare I say blatant sexism of tossing out the term "horrible mistake" dismisses ALL responsibility for 10 criminals who premeditated raping a woman, forcing her own son to participate, beating them both with the intent of killing them and laughing at her the entire time. That is far beyond any MISTAKE!
