The Blogmother Chris Brown is being convicted and character assassinated in the media and we don’t even know what Rihanna did yet,” Banner said. Necole B*tchie
OH look who has an album coming out... or not. We've previously addresses David Banner on this blog. He's a low record selling, highly educated buffoon who sold his soul to the Devil for 40 pieces of aluminum foil. In fact, after viewing his live performance at a Congressional hearing about images in media, We labeled Banner, Who's "slave name" is Levell Crump, "Manchild Levell Crump".
Yes, David Banner is just as looney in person as he was on the video and yes, his suit was too tight. But he gives to charity so that makes it all okay! Another behind the scenes perspective, David Banner’s testimony send Blackberries CRAZY. Half the room was like WTH? I was giving play by play and had everybody around me rolling. Just imagine THIS BLOG, LIVE! WAOD September 27, 2007
Mr. Crump has a thriving hustle speaking at various colleges and universities touting himself as a philanthropist and a graduate of TWO universities. He can't make hit music so he's touring college campuses robbing young Black women of their hard earned tuition money when university groups fall for his speaker agency's false advertising. What makes Manchild Crump's shenanigan's all the more vile and disgusting is he knows better. He is a college graduate and has every advantage handed to him. He made a business decision that mysogyny and the glorification of violence were good business. He made a choice. So now he tours the country sucking up valuable education dollars making intentionally wild statements to generate controversy in the guise of "keeping it real."
So according to Necole B*tchie and a South Carolina newspaper, Mr. Crump, who is an established Black woman-hating manchild had the audacity to equate Black women perming their hair to Black on Black crime:
In a question-and-answer session, Banner challenged black women in attendance to explain why they perm and straighten their hair. In response came the defense that “hair perming” is equated with being able to get a decent job as a professional and not being viewed as a threat by bosses who are usually of a different race.
“This is what I mean when I say black people don’t love themselves,” Banner said. “Perming your hair is a clear example of ‘black-on-black crime’ and media control. Black-on-black crime is not just a black person committing a violent act against another black person.Necole B*tchie
In addition to this statement, Mr. Crump offered his perspective on intimate partner violence, one of the leading killers of Black women ages 15-24:
Chris Brown is being convicted and character assassinated in the media and we don’t even know what Rihanna did yet,” Banner said.
I am extremely disappointed that the article didn't indicate that the young Black men and women in the audience didn't leap from their seats and storm the stage. Now is your chance to do what THEY should have done. Have a conversation with those responsible for this abomination.
Banner's appearance kicked off the second annual Hip-Hop Symposium, sponsored by the Miller F. Whittaker Library in collaboration with the Campus Activity Board's "Awakening Lecture Series." SOURCE

So today's challenge is for you to call and have a conversation with Mr. Pryatt, the organizer of this debacle and point out how absolutely foolish Mr. Pryatt was to invite Mr. Crump to speak about Black on Black crime in light of Mr Crump's well documented history promoting "no snitching," the illegal purchase of firearms by felons, and apparently believing it is okay for men to brutalize pixie-sized Black women. Here is his number: Sherman Pyatt, coordinator of collection development, at the Miller F. Whittaker Library at (803) 536-7045.
You can't do anything about Mr. Crump having already received his honorarium, but you can castigate Sherman Pryatt sufficiently to decrease the likelihood that he will ever be so foolish with South Carolina State University funds in the future. You would think someone working at a library would actually READ about the people he invites to speak.
You might also contact the people responsible for running this institution of higher education. I have already sent my letter to the president of the university and his executive assistant.

Manchild Levell Crump Continues his "Ignorance Personified" Tour- Male Hip Hop Artists STILL Obsessed with Oprah
Come on, Oprah. You’re from Mississippi, girl. I don’t mind what you do as a black leader, but if you’re not going to take up for black people, then don’t criticize them. You don’t have to talk about us — stick to your books. When you talked about us, you didn’t put T.I., Nelly and Snoop on there. You put Common on there, and Common don’t call women bitches and ho’s, so you’re not talking about him, so he shouldn’t have to defend something he does not do. Manchild Crump

I talked to Mr. Pyatt of the Whittaker Library there on campus. He said that he was not in charge of booking speakers for this event and has no real knowledge of rappers or their music (just Literature). He said that a panel, headed by the Student Activities Dept., was responsible for booking the talent and coordinating the event that was held in the library. He listened to me, then directed me to:

He also said that Dr. Lilian Aderson (not Anderson) who is out of the same office, was one of the chief organizers. He said that the Dean - Ms. Adrian Webber - actual knows a great deal about Manchild Levell Crump and MAY have been instrumental in the booking.
Also names of importance are Ms. Kennan and Ms. Dokins - (803) 536-8333
I have not talked to any of the above yet but plan to call later this morning; I just wanted y'all to be aware of the right people to talk to. I'll post my responses later.
Thanks for calling :)
He shifted that blame really quickly. I wonder why the newspaper made it seem as if he was responsible for the series??? Maybe because he is!
Student clubs are usually responsible for booking speakers/acts for their events at many schools. So I feel the students who booked him is just as responsible. I don't know why anyone would invite a D List rapper to come and speak to them. Is David Banner popular in the south or something? What Chuck D wasn't available? Why a rapper period? They would be even better off if they had invited someone from the Civil Rights Industrial Complex.
I bet they wouldn't invite David Banner to perform his music at homecoming b/c no one would buy tickets.
I called some of the other offices and got voicemails. Needless to say, I expressed my concern for this series and asked some the questions that you asked in your letter - "Did they challenge any of his statments? What are they're policies on intimate partner violence? Was anyone familiar with Manchild Crump prior to his booking?" - left my phone number and e-mail for response. I feel like I got the run around - but at least we planted a seed that they'll have to consider next time someone like this is being sought for their forums and speaking engagements!
Oh Lawd, I just went to that speakers website, and they had Toni Morrison, Spike Lee, Susan Taylor, Desmond Tutu. They got a lot of great folks there, and they picked David Banner? Even black folk educated or not is still hooked on the ghetto fabulous
"Don't bother to comment..." In other words, "Put up or shut up!" I love it!
Yes I fired off an angry email to all three of the addresses you provided. I called Mr. Sherman, but he was away from his desk.
Hmm, looks like people aren't answering their phones now. I'll send a letter and copy a few newspapers in on it.
I too tried to call, but the phone continued to ring without a voice message. I did send emails to the three listed names.
We, as a people are our own worse enemies...
They're all ducking under the table and hiding in corners - the roaches!
Wait a minute. Other than JUSTME, did anybody else get to talk to a human being? You mean the whole school doesn't have a single receptionist or assistant.
This is sounding like yall called Naacp headquarters. Ha! They love the voicemail too. Then they want to claim you didn't call them.
Well the local paper emailed asking for permission to publish mt letter.
The first person to speak to a human wins a prize.
This is a first. I thought y'all would have at least have gotten a form letter.
Dammit man. I liked David Banner because from hearing him speak, he seems quite intelligent and I like the way he looks. But hearing about THIS shit......
Dammit man. Now I have to deduct a BUNCH of cool points.
I'll shoot at least one of them an e-mail. Shame on David. Dammit.
David Banner is a college grad? For real? Wow..ok...
I would compare him talking to black women college students to Nelly going to Spelman after the Tip Drill video came out. Maybe what he says has some merit - yeah, there's some institutional racism in the good ol' US of A but his message gets lost in his pathology of misogyny and support of criminality.
i have heard that Banner directed the tip drill video. he ws in it. As for the song "play," it was just a play on the ying yang twins ignorant song that talked about "wait to you see this d**k." In "play" banner brags about getting girls "p***y" wet. Banner does no better and it's a shame that he does this. However, i don't disagree with his statements about sistas getting "permanents" (they are really temporary).
That is an indication of 'self-hate.' to go to the extent of putting chemicals in one's hair so they can have so-called "good hair." Banner was right on that one. Overall however, i agree that he and the other slophop artist need to be checked. They are doing a terrible diservice to our youth!!
Unfortunately a lot of "trash" gets to address our schools of higher learning. If we lack courage to uplift our brothers and sistahs, then people should talk about us the way people are talking about levell. Just as there are no illegal immigrants (because the only people who are truly natives are our Indian cousins)try not get up tight with regard to a foul mouthed zero who wants to negate our beautiful black sistahs getting their hair Permed, why did he not lay that sorry critique on his mother and female relatives. Stand tall go forward to hyour fantastic destiny, learn and achieve. Keep on keepin' on. I will lead you to the light at the end of the tunnel. TRUST ME.
