The Blogmother
I've been following the progress of two WAOD readers as they release and work on their books.
Roslyn is a frequent commenter and long-time reader and she is a prolific writer. I had a chance to read Rock Star (Indigo Love Spectrum)
. I was in Super Wal-mart speeding by the deplorable ghetto-lit infested African American interest book section when I caught a glimpse of a familiar vibrant blue and it was the book cover for Rock Star. I jumped up and down pointing saying "I know her!" and promptly went to purchase it. It was a good read. Now Roslyn is back with Santa Baby. I think it is released tomorrow. That totally rocks! UPDATED-Roslyn says the book is "steamy." She doesn't wan't folks to be ofended or end up clutching ther pearls while reading.
Ananda Leeke is currently on tour with her recently released That Which Awakens Me: A Creative Woman's Poetic Memoir of Self-Discovery
. Her first book Love's Troubadours: Karma: Book One
is also available.
I know the ranks of published authors is growing as we speak.
No, you shan't be able to get your hands on my Nanowrimo book anytime soon. I've laid it aside for a month
to marinate before I start editing. Luckily, the book was actually pretty coherent, I just need to pull an Allison Samuels and make sure all of my character's hair is combed to perfection before they leave the house. Yes, you fall in love with your characters after you give them life so you worry about what the rest of the world will think about them :)
Maybe I ought to start a WAOD Book Review since I get so many offers of preview copies in the mail. I just can't read all those books. *pondering*

Congrats to all! Looking for the movie versions soon!!
unlike movies, and music there are a lot of great black books out there. You may have to look beyond the Essence Bestseller list though.
Thank you Gina for the love. Best wishes Roslyn. Kudos Gina on completing NAMO. Huge kudos and props. Enjoy your break. Looking forward to supporting your book when you are ready to release it. Peace and Creativity, Ananda
Congrats Roslyn and Soror Leeke!
I agree, blkchik. Not only on Essence Bestseller list, Waldenbooks, Wal-mart etc etc, but even the local black bookstore location. I have to search in the far back corner to find a decent book, but by that point, I'm frustrated and leave!
Congrats ladies will def. look into these books. My first semester offically ended. I need reading material until it's time to head back to school. I agree about ESsence bestsellar list, it's always the same books on the list over and over again.
@Gina a book club is not a bad idea.
