Tavis Smiley Employees COWARDLY Response to Questions About Child Rape

I'm a Girl Scout, Brownie and Junior. My best Girl Scout memory was going to Camp Arnold. For three days we lived off the land. Campfires, cooking peach cobbler by digging a hole in the ground throwing some peaches and cake mix in an iron pot and covering it with hot charcoal. Canoeing. It was the best. But as with all outdoor activities, you had to contend with pests. Insects. Mosquitos, fire ants, flies. You dealt with these minor annoyances. It was the price you paid for experiencing the great outdoors.

Blogging comments sections are a lot like camping. You can have a great time, but occasionally a troll or pest will be attracted to your festivities. For the most part you swat them away. After all, pulling out a can of Raid at the campfire kinda ruins the moment.

But at Camp Arnold along may of the paths you would find trees with florescent stripes sprayed on them. Attached to those trees would be a simple garden hoe

You see, while you were at Camp Arnold being at one with nature, there were some pests that were annoying- you swatted those away. Then there were other pests that were threats- these would be the copperheads slithering around. Should you find yourself in a confrontation with a copperhead, you were empowered to chop off its heads.

On Monday, I posted an open letter to Tavis Smiley asking him a few simple questions regarding his position on older men having sex with underage girls. This was in light of Mr. Smiley's brand being built on Black folks holding people accountable and his recent publicity blitz announcing his collaboration with Robert Kelly to tell Mr. Kelly's story. In fact, the press release Mr. Smiley's employees SENT TO MY EMAIL INBOX wanted me to promote the fact that Mr. Smiley was collaborating with a man widely believed to have a predilection for very young girls in an effort to rehabilitate Mr. Kelly's reputation. Furthermore, I asked questions regarding whether the resources of the Corporation For Public Broadcasting through PBS, Mr. Smiley's main benefactor and promoter, would be dedicating any resources to promote this endeavor.

These were relevant, reasonable questions.

Now Mr. Smiley could have chosen to issue a simple reply to these very simple questions. He could have had a spokesperson provide a simple reply to these questions. That would have been the rational, ethical thing to do.

Instead Mr. Smiley's employees and associates, having already been smacked down ONCE by me for astroturfing, appear to have returned from the same computer to carry out astroturfing, but this time "anonymously". So unoriginal were they that when I clicked on the IP address indicated to see if any other comments have come from this same address before, it pulled up all of the old comments this COWARDLY Smiley employee left from their previous drubbing. I took the additional step of doing a reverse IP lookup which brought back the following information:

Maybe this is ALL a coincidence.. or maybe we are dealing with people who are Cowardly AND Lazy. These same culprits, having realized their screwup then replied in a lengthier comment from their mobile device, but they used the same language and patterns from earlier comments. Why, pray tell wouldn't they sign their name to their comments?

One particular COWARD is really BOLD about calling other people out... unless of course those people are paying his bills. I once questioned the testicular fortitude of certain Smiley employees and I felt bad about that in retrospect because having your manhood questioned in such a public manner has to be demoralizing. I ended up trapped on a most uncomfortable phone call filled with male histrionics and empathized with the distress exhibited by this employee after I filleted, battered and fried him on this blog . But no good deed goes unpunished.

So, here is the deal. I'm going to publish these comments later this week. If the Smiley Group would like to issue an official response before that time, I am more than happy to substitute that response for these cowardly comments sitting in my comments moderation que. Comments which at no point indicate any empathy or concern for young Black girls who are preyed upon by much older men.

That sound you hear COWARDLY SMILEY GROUP EMPLOYEES is the sound of inevitability. INEVITABLY my very simple questions will be answered. They can be answered today OR they can be answered three months from now in an even more public forum. After all we have to be ACCOUNTABLE... or at least that's what Tavis said in his most recent addition to the African American Interest shelves in the Wal-mart book section. I offered you an open and honest opportunity to respond, and instead you slithered into my comment's section like a snake... a COWARDLY snake. The question is, do you slither back under the rock you crawled out from under or do I lop your head off. Either way, the questions will get answered.

Folks, keep contacting PBS and the CPB, its clear they are freaked out to be this stupid AGAIN!
