Best Wishes to Rev. Al Sharpton and LisaRaye McCoy Misick-( Friday Side Eye)

Icon Friday Morning side eye by Gem2001 Icon Friday Morning side eye

Yes the blogmother is moving on up, she's gone from 2d to 3d and yes, I modeled that with my 3D animation program. I'm improving aren't I. We interrupt the string of heart breaking stories this week to engage in what we're calling Friday Side Eye. Friday Side Eye will join our Dispatches from Heaven and Hell in our Too Much Time on My Hands category.
The Reverand Al Sharpton and Lisa Rey arrive at the DGA for the NAACP party The Black blogosphere was all a-twitter ( pun intended) over unsubstantiated rumors of romantic relations between the First Lady of the Turks and Caicos, Lisa Raye McCoy Misick and the Reverend Al Sharpton, IV.We now know that these recent rumors are not true because First Lady Misick's publicist said so. And we all know Publicists NEVER LIE! First Lady Misick and Reverend Sharpton are promoting literacy on behalf of the Obama administration. Don't be confused because you haven't seen either one of them carrying nary a book, book mark, book light or book end. Folks should have been more careful, the last time news outlets reported on the purportedly amorous activities of Rev. Sharpton, they got served with legal papers:

On the eve of the publication of this story, The Village VoiceAl Sharpton, Michael Hardy and Sanford Rubenstein. Promising "to pursue all legal remedies" if the story appeared, the letter spelled out what it said was "a false allegation" involving Sharpton's wife of 23 years, Kathy Sharpton, noting that the Voice had "been informed" of this allegation by "several individuals." Then it warned that publishing "any story which talks about false allegations of Rev. Sharpton and not false allegations regarding Ms. Sharpton would demonstrate your actionable malice towards Rev. Sharpton." received an extraordinary letter signed by the two attorneys most closely associated with Reverend

Yes, Al Sharpton tried to smear his own wife to throw the Village Voice off the scent of a story involving Sharpton's purported lustful liaisons with a staffer. I'd repeat the allegations, here, but I don't want to traumatize you this bright and early Friday morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with First Lady Misick this bright and early morning, you thought your ex-husband had "issues." Now many people have remarked on a glaring age difference, between the two, but not so much.
Get Schooled benefit to promote education, Paramount Pictures, Los Angeles, California

Despite the fact that Rev. Sharpton looks a shade south of 87, he was purportedly born in 1954 which would make him about 55.

First Lady McKissick for her part appears younger than she is.
Premiere of Turks & Caicos and First Lady Seperate
She was born in 1967 a mere 13 years after Reverend Sharpton. Once you pass 35, a 13 year age difference isn't all that great.

I think some in the blogosphere are being short sighted. This relationship could be like Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day and the Foley's Red Apple Sale all wrapped up in one. Who knows what fiery passions could erupt over a good book. Just let that image marinate in your mind for just a moment. "I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them Sam I am."

What I find most interesting is the fact that people are attempting to determine whether the rampant speculation is true or not. It doesn't matter whether or not it is true . Rev. Al likely wants you to think that the rumors are true. If he didn't, TRUST ME, his henchwomen at the National Action Network don't have any problem sending angry messages to bloggers from their Blackberry.

If rumors of romance are true, which I am praying that they are, I wish these two all the best. I look forward to getting my wedding invitation in the mail along with a copy of Green Eggs & Ham and See Jane Run. Thank you Rev. Al and LisaRaye. I needed this comic relief this week. Remember, true love conquers all.

PPS. You know "Tiny Tot", our favorite Sharpton staffer, is just steaming mad right about now. Maybe I should email her for comment. Y'all know how enraged she gets with me when I don't get her approval before posting about her boss.

Now really I wish there was a Baja Fresh near my job. I kind of need some of that tortilla soup right about now.

I am surprised that you haven't feautured a story on the missing young black woman Mitrice Richardson. This story deserves your attention and as much exposure as possible. This Lisa Raye and Al Sharpton romance rumour is nothing but gossip.

OMG. I have'nt even finished reading the entire post as I was side tracked by the "amorous activities of Rev.Sharpton" link you placed.Man oh man was it telling. We already knew that Sharpton likes to use black women as shields for bm protection but that article proved it.I'm glad that it's coming from another source other than a BWE blog. It's just nice to have more confirmation. After reading that I don't see how any sane person could doubt that those poor women really ARE being indoctrinated about self sacrifice for the black community i.e black man causes that bw gain nothing from.

Also when I clicked on that link I was reading about how he wanted his wife to be painted badly because of his alleged affair and there was another link there about how Sharpton helped plan Jackson's demise during Jesse's baby mama fiasco so that he could be "the man".All the while smiling in Jesse's face pretending to be on his team.

WOW! talk about character flaws. This is also very telling cause if Al would do that to a man and a woman he has that many years of history with noone is exempt.I couldn't see any sane woman expecting love respect and protection getting involved with a man like him.Furthermore,I couldn't see being his friend or even an associate. He seems like a weak man that hide behind women and a backstabber that'll take anybody out, including buddies, to get what he wants.Shameful

Now that i've finally read the entire post EXCELLENT POINTS! You nailed it.You always seem to question those things that I overlook. His people are notorious for threatening somebody for starting up rumors about him even when it's likely that the bad rumors are true. They didn't come out and say anything because it made him feel and look good that people thought he was with a younger attractive woman.

Plus when I first heard about the rumor everyone who believed it was true were calling Lisa a golddiger.Yet had very little to say about the "good Reverend" and we know from the way he did his wife that's exactly how Al would want things.

Al seems like a mirror image of all the other DBR black men to me.Wants women to protect men.Wants women to be held accountable and at a higher standard than men while he escapes punishment/bashing.Apparently has an ego that must be massaged. He's selfish!

1954? before the common era I suppose.

@sweetbabyface

I needed a break. I won't apologize to you for taking one. You are a lazy coward and for violating the number one rule one WADO which is "thou who does not pay bills don't run nuthin round here" you are now banned. Good bye.

ROFL!!! Gina this is so wrong, but oddly amusing. First Chicago loses the Olympic bid, now this. I just can't stop laughing today.

October 2, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAminah Hanan

Wait a minute, wait a minute so when I saw Rev. Al and LisaRaye at Michael Jackson's funeral sitting side by side that was literacy outreach or just the sitting arrangement. Hey, I ain't mad at Rev. Al make it work. Question: Is LisaRaye still married? If Rev. Al is "knocking boots" or "knocking high heels," is that still considered adultery if the woman is married to guy from a country the size of the Robert Taylor Housing Projects in Chicago. Probably, but only in a biblical sense I would imagine.

So Rev. Al good luck and I wish you well. By the way you have not had any marches for good minute, I know that Obama outreach work has you and Newt tied up pretty good.

"Once you pass 35, a 13 year age difference isn’t all that great."

It's so great for us men that we got women saying that for us! ;)

One thing comes to mind when I see this picture is a reverend and a stripper...

Is she gonna do WWE wrestling with him

October 2, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterblkchik

...how come he's parading around hollywood and not in Chicago????

Always end the week with a laugh! Thanks...I needed that.

October 2, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterdeborah

You know what. Some of you really do need to walk away. This blog has ALWAYS had a humor component. Always! So now a group of you, some of which have already gotten the boot seem to think you can be the managing editor of what is basically an UNPAID HOBBY.

This is my blog. If I want to laugh and something idiotic on a Friday after a week of horrid news, that's my right. You have no say in the matter. Your option is to go read the archives. Go read any number of blogs you have access to or skip Fridays.

You don't have the right to tell me what to post about. You can make a request. You can ask. You can send me email links as other readers do regularly, but I choose what I want to post about. Not you. EVER! Just because I don't post about something when you want me to post about it doesn't' mean I won't post about it.

But please do continue. Less page clicks less problems.

October 2, 2009 | Unregistered Commentergem2001

@LD I don't think she looks like a stripper. I think she looks like the former first lady of a tropical island.

October 2, 2009 | Unregistered Commentergem2001

I especially adore narcissistic readers who announce that they are LEAVING AND NEVER COMING back to the blog ever! I think that's AWESOME! I think its GREAT! Take five friends with you!

October 2, 2009 | Unregistered Commentergem2001

Last but not least, some of you who lack the ability to think critically thought this post was about whether or not Al Sharpton is dating LisaRaye. I could care less. What you should be concerned about is these two gallivanting around talking about pushing President Obama's education agenda. Which is clearly a lie. You should be concerned about the ridiculous image of this self-appointed decency czar. How is he going to regulate decency when he's trying to throw his own wife of 23 years under the bus?

October 2, 2009 | Unregistered Commentergem2001

I had no idea that Rev. Al had so much foolishness going on. That New York News article you linked to was very interesting.

October 3, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterNappy Mind

@Gina, I was referring to the movie she played in as a stripper "Players Club". I could never get pass that role.

Lisa Raye is a very beautiful woman.

Rev. Al, well...

October 3, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterwanda

omg. What's scary about that Village Voice article is a that it can only be a fraction of what's really gone down--the rock bottom 'scandalosity' usually doesn't get printed. You have to wonder what's happened or changed since then. We need more investigative articles like this about all of these supposed "political" organizations (on all political sides/of all races) --seems like they are nothing more than a cult of personality, law breaking and womanizing/adultery under the guise of a cause and some dude. I don't know what it takes to get people to put down the kool-aid & use their money to support effective organizations that are solving problems and bringing social justice. http://www.villagevoice.com/2004-11-30/news/on-a-new-high-sharpton-hits-a-new-low/1

"And we all know Publicists NEVER LIE!"

LOL. I thought that was officially in their job description.

October 3, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterYme

You are so right sometimes you need a good laugh and that is what I had today.

October 4, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterdonna

I lost respect for Al beginning earlier this decade, when Village Voice printed up some information about his shady dealings and cheating on his wife. Then I heard about THIS garbage a few days ago. Stick a fork in me because I'm DONE with both of them.

"First Lady Misick and Reverend Sharpton are promoting literacy on behalf of the Obama administration. Don’t be confused because you haven’t seen either one of them carrying nary a book, book mark, book light or book end."

They're into literacy alright... she's the naughty teacher and he's the more-than-willing student. :-|

October 4, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSpinster

I thought Rev. Al divorced his wife just before he got that Raido One gig with Cathy Hughes. I know there was talk of divorce at least.

Response to #20: Another point should be who is footing the bill for the "galavanting?" Is it coming from Arne Duncan's $5 Billion budget? When I saw Rev. Al's education rally and later looked at his website on closing "the achievement gaps" and providing equal education for "all," (which means absolutely nothing), I knew the money grab was on and righteous. Newt, Bloomberg, Klein, Arne and Rev. Al are giving BlackAchievement a hit.

October 4, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterBlackAchievement

Its always about the money. In this case the "cache" of carrying out the President s agenda and giving the illusion of being close to power. ... while going on WEE wrestling.

October 4, 2009 | Unregistered Commentergem2001

Humm-mm, if Rev. Al and Co. are doing all ot this to promote Pres. Obama's "education agenda", then I ask does Pres. Obama know about the rumors of an affair? Not a good sqeaky clean image, ya know. :)

Also regarding education issues, Arne Duncan is Secretary of Education, BUT HAS NEVER TAUGHT SCHOOL, NEVER BEEN A TEACHER, TEACHER'S AIDE SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD OR PRINCIPAL EVER IN LIFE. Sec. Duncan (like Pres. Obama) promotes/favors vouchers and charter schools, neither of which has proven to be substantially better at educating children. As a matter of fact, in Chicago and someplace in California (I apologize, I don't remember where), due to these "education policies", there are lawsuits pending 'cause mostly Black, experienced teachers are being fired while much younger, inexperienced White teachers are being brought in. School property and other public property worth $$$ of dollars are being sold at way too low prices to developers, thereby contributing to a continued lack of resources for our cities. And if any of you here lived through Newt Gingrich's "Contract With (or On) America", WTH is Rev. Al promoting education with a right winger like Newt? Something stinks here so stay tuned, folks! :( :(

If "Superhead" can pull guys like Bill Maher, what the hell is wrong with this picture of LisaRaye and Al Sharpton?
