What Do You Blog About? --WAOD Plug Your Blog Day!

I don't have time to read blogs as much as I used to. Ironic, I know. But I do read the comments here and occasionally pop in to some of your blogs although I may not leave a comment (Yes, I am a major lurker). I was at a conference over the weekend and met some other Black women who blog and I didn't know they were out there. I want to know what you blog about.

What is the name of your blog?
What is the URL?
Provide a link to a post that you think is indicative of what your blog is all about.

Yes, today is your day to shamelessly plug your blog and let people know you are out there-We have stories to tell and people need to know about them. To the non-bloggers, take a minute today and pop in to someplace new and check it out.

I have my own little blog called Happy Nappy Head (happynappyhead.blogspot.com) and it's my way to keep sane I guess. I started it over a year ago when I shaved off all my hair for the umpteenth time to go natural and haven't looked back. I'm still natural and while I talk about my hair occassionally, I talk about anything that really grinds my gears from the political to the personal. It's just real talk I guess. I run so many blogs, I don't get to blog everyday, but I also only blog when I'm passionate about something as well. So I know I put in my all. Hope you all stop by to visit!

Hello, my name is Yasmin C. and I'm the founder of APOOO Books. I've been following your blog for awhile and really enjoy reading and co-signing on your posts.

Anywho...APOOO is dedicated to spreading the word about African American literature, be it authors, books, book clubs, events, or all things literary.

Making it a little formal...here's our mission statement:
APOOO is an online author and reader community dedicated to advancing African American literature. Our mission is to expose readers of all ages to a good book in any genre; to support African American authors, books, literary events and bookclubs; to provide marketing resources, tools and tips to authors; and, to promote literacy within the African American community.

And...to keep it spicy, on and popping...there are times when I go completely off-script and just "Think Out Loud" where I talk about current events and what's going on with me and my family.

Thanks for the free plug!
My blog is the Brown Sugar Pages. it's a little bit like an e-magazine, and I try to tackle topics that would be of interest to young Black women and others too. :-) I provide commentary on politics, beauty, news, entertainment and words of inspiration as well.

wow, let me start off by thanking you for giving us this chance.

i blog about overcoming a past of abuse and extreme neglect. i use myself as an example because so often we only hear of those who never stop the cycle of hate, evil, and poverty and this plays a large part in why more children are not inspired to do anything.

i really do hope to inspire many, if only a few that would be fine. and of course, one would be better than none.

but it's really geared towards those young girls living with drug and alcohol addicted parents. or the young lady who has been sexually violated and have no clue about what to do. i give a lot of tips and pointers but most importantly i give myself up as an example.

thank you.

My blog is dedicated to people with good old-fashioned common sense. I blog about everything, but mainly about how Chitlin Eatin' Negroes and insincere, liberal whites, are working together to destroy black people with sense.

On occassion I will post something personal or something about being black, male, gay, and unapoligetically open.

Typical Post:

My blog is a fusion between my two passions--food and politics. I blog about the election, history and where our country is headed by talking about food from different regions of the U.S. If you want to know the relationship between fried pies and Sarah Palin or the mortgage crisis and lobster rolls, check out www.regionalfoodroundup.blogspot.com.

Thanks!

Thanks Gina for the opportunity to plug my blog...www.conservativeblkwoman.blogspot.com.

I think the name speaks for itself. I blog about what concerns me most -- the willfull ignorance of black folks who could and should do better.

The name of my blog is Christocentric.

I talk about spiritual, political and social issues from a Christ-centered perspective. I am a social conservative, pro-life, pro-male/female marriage, pro-abstinence...well, you get the picture!

I started the blog originally as a response to my articles on my long running website - http://christocentric.com/Kwanzaa/" rel="nofollow">The Truth About Kwanzaa. I was bothered by the Afrocentric world view coming into conflict with much of the Christ-centered principles for living - thus the name of my website. Instead of afrocentric, christocentric as a way of life!

Thanks for allowing me to plug my blog!

Thanks for asking, Gina! My blog is "Los Angelista". www.losangelista.com

It's the quirky observations and hopeful social reflections of a married mother of two pursuing happiness in the City of Angels. Los Angelista delves into issues as diverse as race relations and pop culture, and can make even a routine visit to Starbucks an anthropological field study.

My blog is http://lormarie.com. I usually write about religion, music, politics, etc. I have another website that I'm trying to perfect. Its http://revolutionwatch.com/. There I write about things similar to my blog only in a more formal manner. I'd like to eventually add contributors. After I officially launch it, I'd like to start another focused on black women complete with a forum. As you can see, I love the web.

Thanks for asking. I read your column everyday since I have a link on my website to yours.

I blog at www.revwanda.blogspot.com. As an African American minister and lesbian, I write about the things that happen around me in my world. Currently attending a HBCU and write about my experiences there. It is very conservative and Baptist and very interesting at times.

Just random thoughts that I try and do at least once a week.

Thanks for the oppurtunity Gina. I have two blogs the first is:

http://gods-man.blogspot.com

This was my first attempt at blogging. I comment on what is going on from a spiritual perspective. I also use it as a sounding board as I am preparing sermons.

The post that seems to generate the most traffic on my site is this one http://gods-man.blogspot.com/2007/10/positive-thinking-negative-thinking.html" rel="nofollow">Postive Thinking, Negative Thinking, or Right Thinking

My second blog was a challenge from one of my ministry friends. I attempted to write one letter of encouragement to my wife a week, for one year. While I didn't meet his challenge I continue to write messages of love and encouragement to her. Here is the url.

Hi Gina,

My blog is about the situation and happenings in black women's lives and how it relates in a Judaic/kabbalistic sense.

I am still one of those who believe in BF, I think we may be using a template that is not our own and therefore, can not see wholely alot of the reasonings for alot of things happening. So, I attempt to reflect at least some light these things. Things such as the gang raping that seems to be increasing, the sexual tone that our music and entertainment have taken and why, and how our spirituality is still as strong as ever. It may not be THE answer, but its definitely a different perspective. All this in a judaic/kabbalistic framework.

Thanks for this opportunity.

I'm a sahm & just started my blod this month, so I've been largely writing about the election/politics. I'm just kind-of leaving it up to whatever's on my mind that I can't possibly help ranting about, but am hoping it gets more positive after the election.
