Last week Sandra Rose reported that Bernie Mac was in very critical condition, but Mac's publicist said otherwise. Well, MSNBC just put up a headline that comedian Bernie Mac has died. He was only 50 years old.

I'm almost in tears as I type this. Bernie Mac was family. He was a local guy who went big, but never forgot his hometown. He never moved away from Chicago. I admit it - what I loved most about Bernie is that he married his high school sweetheart, and when he got big, he stayed with her. He was a Black man who took care of his family, and secondarily made us laugh.
Damn, he was too young. Too young.
Stay on top of your health, folks.

Bernie will be sorely missed. What a shock and a reminder that tomorrow is never promised. Thank the Universe that this man shared his comedic gift with us.
my heart is truly heavy as I type this...what a giant both as a comedian, and an actor. But what is most impressive is committment to his family, ( WIFE OF 30 YRS, and the father of one daughter JeNiece, and his grandaughter) and how he never let fame nor fortune CHANGE him nor his comedy....his life ended tooo soon...so much talent ..now laid to rest...A TRUE KING OF COMEDY...we will miss you Bernie Mac
Bernie Mac was a hansome man who really knew how to make people laugh. He was a great actor, comedian and family man. He will be greatly missed.
