Massive Democratic Convention Schedule(18 Pages) - What Should I Try to Attend

I was doing my preparation to travel to Denver for the Democratic National Convention. I have been credentialed to blog the convention. If you thought that you had to have a credential to cover the convention, then you are wrong. There is PLENTY to do outside of the Pepsi Center. In fact there are 18 pages worth of stuff to do. You can thank me for being an intrepid information hound with some link love. You read it here first!

So far the one thing that has jumped out has been White House Project's reception for Shirley Chisholm.

Peruse the list at your leisure. If you see something interesting, put it in the comments. I am also bringing a photographer so even if I can't attend, maybe the photographer can swing by and take pictures.

Thanks for the link. I'm in Denver and trying to figure out what I might be able to attend.

i can't remember the dates, but i think it would be good to check in with the cbc unity townhall mtg just to see what folks are saying. the race, gender, ethnicity discussion in the fall elections might be a good one to step into for some moments. i know whatever you attend will be great. i am looking forward to your coverage. tyou for all you are doing. peace and safe travels. remember to take care of gina first. get some sleep. drink your water. and remember to stretch some.

Hey Gina, thanks for this. My eyes started to glaze over the 5th page in. I decided to go to Denver and wing it. A very generous Obama supporter offered their spot as a place to crash so I couldn't say no. Any suggestions on scoring Thursday tickets for the nomination speech? I've been wait-listed and have no problems begging or bartering.

Faith,

If I had access to additional tickets, I would be a rich woman. I am worried about how much access I will have to INVESCO. What you might try to do is finnagle your way into a smaller event where Obama will be present such as the Illinois delegation event. Go to the Thursday page and look. I also think senator Kennedy is planning an Obama event. If I don't get to see him in person, I am cool. Are you following me on Twitter?

Cousin hope you can touch base when you come to town. David and I may be sellling our delicious smoothies at the Green Day event. I'm such a groupie and probably one of the few Denverites that cares about wading through the crowds. Hope to see you -if not have fun! Denise

This stuff is so exciting. I feel like I am attending, and I know you will provide an experience which make us feel as if we were there.
There is too much to list...I glanced quickly, and did not see anything on crime.

Event suggestions:
Unity Town Hall Meeting organized by the Congressional Black Caucus Institute
Healthcare Group Reception
Solute to African American Voters
African American Caucus Gala
The Supreme Court and the 2008 Elections...(this is listed on page 16, third from the bottom of the list)
America's Energy
Salute fo African American voters
