Chris Rock: "A Black Woman Can't Be First Lady of the United States"

Yes yes. It was a joke. When is it ever NOT a joke when it comes to Black women. We're always good for a laugh and a paycheck. Apparently Chris Rock thinks having a Black wife is a Black mark when it comes to running for high office

Barack has a handicap the other candidates don't have: Barack Obama has a black wife. And I don't think a black woman can be first lady of the United States. Yeah, I said it! A black woman can be president, no problem. First lady? Can't do it. You know why? Because a black woman cannot play the background of a relationship. Just imagine telling your black wife that you're president? 'Honey, I did it! I won! I'm the president.' 'No, we the president! And I want my girlfriends in the Cabinet! I want Kiki to be secretary of state! She can fight!' " Rolling Stone
Actually, Chris is describing Hillary, not Michelle. Now folks say comedy is rooted in truth. I say comedy is rooted in the personal delusions of the comic. Maybe if Chris had spent more time with his BLACK WIFE he wouldn't have been sweating bullets over a rape charge. (I'm just joking :)) Thanks Brother!Let me stop. I don't want to appear to be an angry Black woman.

Meh - I've never thought Chris Rock was that funny anyway, so I'm hard-pressed to get offended. Does that make me an angry black woman, lol?

I've always liked Chris. So I won't put him on my 'Dead to Me' list. He'll just go on my 'Isht List' for now. He's definitely 'on notice.' It's not black women's fault he can't keep it in his pants.

Sounds like some misplaced anger and resentment on his part to me.

The nerve - a group that is continually attacked and belittled both within and outside their own community getting angry - imagine that!

I saw him in concert. When he said that, I just sank in my seat and did not find it at all amusing (while sitting in a mostly white audience) Maybe his wife would not play a back role but why dis allllll black women...Seems like our own men are our #1 enemy....Oh, he also talked about black men dating outside the race and why black women mostly don't..(because we do not find white men attractive even if they are rich-Anna Nicoles 100 year old husband) I agreed with this..

Remember some time back when Chris Rock's wife was on Oprah (or was it hanging out with Oprah) and she was doing a lot of good things for the community? I thought Chris was proud of the wife. I guess something turned and she was seem the superior one in his eyes. Damn. Why can't a man just appreciate a woman and not act like it is a zero sum.

"Actually, Chris is describing Hillary, not Michelle."

HELLO.

Hillary has pulled out all the stops to try to take Obama out of the race, while Michelle has been his biggest supporter - and lets not forget Oprah. But, of course, those Black women only did it for their own greedy, power-hungry, emasculating self-gain.

I love it.

I still like Chris Rock, but sometimes the stuff that comes out of his mouth....

It was a cheap shot joke for laughs. I love Chris...but he's not the brightest star in the sky.

Some jokes just aren't funny.

Please get a grip people. It was a joke, whether you thought it was funny or not, it was just a joke.

Everytime a person tells a joke that you don't think is funny it does not have to become a crisis in Black America.

Anyone who follows Chris Rock knows that he has shown nothing but respect to his wife, his family and his colleagues.

Are any of you people happy??
