Behind the Scenes Election Night Photos of Obama Family on Flickr!!

Folks, have you been waiting for the behind the scenes photos of President Elect Barack Obama and family from election night? Well the Obama campaign ended up putting them up exclusively on Flickr! HOW COOL IS THAT????

I think you can even order photo prints on Flickr. Thank goodness we have someone that understands new media! The photos were released under a Creative Commons license! Yay! Now we all get to enjoy them. Tons of photos so I won't put them all here. Go download them for your blogs now.

On a side note, the lava lamp dress looks a lot better in these photos. Maybe it just didn't translate well on television. One of my favorites is President Elect Obama with his mother-in-law.

It may be symbolism, he may be a compromised candidate, white people may want their vote back, Black people may be disappointed candy ain't falling from the sky but I LOVE THIS FAMILY!!!!!

I love the family too, but I had to 'bout fall out in front of coworkers when he referred to himself as a "mutt" during his first press conference. I had to slink quietly out of the room. But yeah the family is beautiful.

Yeah I saw that. I was quite shocked actually, but I've heard a lot of bi-racial people refer to themselves that way. I guess he's going to start relaxing a little bit now and let the "Black" side out more...Oh Lord!

love the photos! thanks for the post. my favorite is his O-ness with his feet on the table and Michelle looking lovely as ever. i agree, the dress looks much better in those photographs than it did on t.v.

i,too, have heard bi-racial people refer to themselves this way. i have also heard other bi-racial folks take issue with the reference. so i guess it is kind of like the n word. some love to use it others loathe it.

at the end of the day, he has a right to self define the way he chooses. this is how he gets to be black, in my opinion. he is very much, as a blogger i greatly respect would say, a "white woman's baby".

thanks for letting me share.

blessings,

He and his family raise the bar of respectability and love high. And that's the way it should be.

I'm so excited about having them in the White House. Hopefully they will avoid scandals.

I love the pic with his mother in law too. Interesting how much space they give between them. It looks almost measured for spite for the sake of the media, lol.

I saw where some people had issues with him calling himself I mutt. I don't find it derogatory, it's self expression. Heck, some people are always trying to promote biracials to define or call themselves whatever... well taadaa.

Okay, as a black man who voted for John McCain over Obama, I am starting a campaign to get Obama to select the following as the theme song for his campain. Yes, I know... You guys aren't exactly as hip as this black conservative. You are kicking yourselves and saying "Damn, this is the perfect song for the Obama Presidency... Why did a black republican come up with this before I did?" That's because black republicans are also cultural nationalists too - at least some of us are. We make the best collard greens.

Anyway, here is the unofficial theme to the Barack Obama campaign....
