The Blogmother
Barack Obama and family are now making plans to move into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Now that you aren't reading tirelessly about tracking polls, and watching YouTube clips and are beginning your election season withdrawal. It was strange not to have any inclination to hit up my usual early morning haunts this morning. So now what do I do with all that free time? Well luckily for you, there is plenty out there for you to amuse yourself with. like this site...

I am all about I Can Has Cheezburger; it is hilarious!
I know people are excited about an Obama Presidency but No one seems to be discussing the several ballot initiatives that were passed in several states.
California decided to ban gay marriage.
Arkansas decided to ban gay couples from adopting.
Nebraska and Colorado just banned race/gender based affirmative action,
Michigan decided to allow medical marijuana.
Masschusetts decided to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana.
I just want let other folks know that laws are being passed that affect people while everyone is cheering for Obama.
Worked for Obama and don't know what to do next? Meet us in Oakland Nov 13-15, 2008 for the Facing Race Conference - the nation's largest racial justice gathering.
Although it may not be my choice, I oppose anything that prohibits gays from getting married or adopting. I know too many 'straight' people that suck at both!
Affirmitive action is still needed.
There's real crime happening in communities so I don't have a problem with letting those with lesser offenses do something other than prision time.
I live in San Francisco and I can tell you the No on 8 people did a piss poor of of reaching out to enough people. They just assumed they had the votes in the bag.
Focus groups, press releases and flyers don't make for a successful campaign. They didn't get their hands dirty and came begging for votes from communities with a lot of people hurting financially even more than usual. It didn't see sincere.
It didn't seem sincere.
Gina, I don't know where your email address is, but here is an article (I'm sure you already know about it) about that 106 y/o BW who voted for O. She led an interesting life.
