WAOD PSA- DL Hughley is a JOKE, but we're not laughing..."This is CNN"

Check out our latest public service announcement, until CNN tries to have it pulled. When people tell you who they are, believe them.

On yesterday I gave my review of the first episode of DL Hughley Makes the News.
CNN and DL Hughley Think Sex Traffickers Are Funny –”Shut Cho Mouth B*tches!”- “Pimps up Hoes Down”, “Financing Hoes” “B*tch Better Have My Money”on CNN
I think it was universally panned except for one non-black television critic out of Baltimore. I guess he wanted to be "hip" and all that "jive." Well any way, I haven't made one of my public service announcements, so I thought y'all were due.

Since CNN wants to be branded as the network of PIMPS and human traffickers, I helped them out by doing a mashup of DL Hughley's first episode of the television travesty that is Dl Hughley Makes the News. Diversity doesn't mean scraping the bottom of the barrel to just throw random Black folks up on TV. If CNN is the most trusted source in news, what does it mean that right out of the box, they throw Black pimps up for all the world to gawk at. Stereotypical much? What? Was Shirley Q Liquor not available? When people tell you who they are, believe them.

Now imagine if only I had that new Mac Book Pro I have been wanting. I could do so much more Final Cut Studio :(.

That was spot on! You should do that more often

I would if only I could upgrade to Final Cut Pro. :( but alas it tis not in the budget, but maybe Santa will bring me a fully loaded Mac Book Pro. Either that or I need to get off my tush and do more freelancing.

This took about 15 minutes if you didn't include the arduous search for public domain music.

Does anyone think all these terrible black shows are a conspiracy. They don't have many black shows on to begin with, but most they do put on really do suck and get cancelled. Are they networks doing this on purpose so they can say the tried.
I mean are the writers from Cosby, A Different World and Living Single are still alive aren't they?

DL Hughley is an overrated comic. Worse, he is anti-black folk and sexist, especially toward black women. I've seen on talk shows and live twice. Not once did he say anything positive about black folks. And, frankly, I'm sick of black who have gotten rich off the political struggles of black people and black culture turning on them and only speaking about the worst of us.

But to be fair, others do it as well, including Chris Rock, who is a good comic, but says the same negative things about black people, especially black women. Question: If some of us don't give HL Hughley a pass, why should we give Chris Rock one?

I watched the Hughley first show and thought that it was bad, but I would give him a chance. Now, after the second watching, I say no more; and I'm sick of tired of black men who refuse to grow up, who, after all we've gone through to get some respect, after white bloggers continue to call Michelle Obama "angry bitch" refuse to grow up and give black folks-- which is most of us-- who do the right thing some play.

Soory for the long post.

Gina,
I agree with you. This has got to be the worst of the worst. I have long stated just because CNN has blacks on the show, does not mean it gives a hoot about black folks. Yes they have anchors, but those journalist should be outraged that they went to school and skank DL, is on national show delivering the news. What a joke...funny, no one is laughing.

CNN needs to pull the plug on this show immediately!

Is it true? Did he really do this pimp routine...on CNN??

have to stop lurking (sic) and comment this time.

i agree, this show, and in my opinion, Chocolate News, are all a part of some new enthusiasm moving in the wrong direction. not sure on the conspiracy tip, but i would have picked Aaron McGruder, Connie Rice, or Thea Vidale.

I still love this piece of hers would rather watch this.

Yes he did that routine on CNN go back to the previous post. He also showed Sammy Davis Jr. as president holding a pork chop.

Your PSA is great!

When people question why I go on television fasts~I point to the quality of programming as being a primary factor. I have seen three clips from DL's show and I hope that I'm spared from viewing anymore.

I wanted to reserve my judgement till I saw the show. I couldve saved myself the 10 minuets I wasted which I can never regain. The whole thing was awkward, DL looked as perplexed as I did, as to the point of him being on CNN. I mean if youre gonna have such a transparent attempt to aim for the Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert audience, youre weapon of choice is DL Hughley? This man got more Promo than Fareed Zakaria for christ sake! None of this makes any sense, I feel like Im taking crazy pills.

Say what? My beloved Sammy?

What in the Heck did I miss? You mean to tell me there's more of this sickness than what you posted yesterday?

Lord Please make it stop!

What a joke! He's too stupid not to be ashamed to traffic in this tripe. You have the comedy genius of Stewart and Colbert and all CNN could come up with this
clown.

I would note that many of the posters here say they do not watch TV regularly or have cable. I do not have cable.

I can only assume this was CNN's attempt to reach a wider black audience. I do not think there is anything sinister or conspiratorial about these awful black shows. I think it happens that TV execs seeking larger audience numbers ...and knowing little about what will resonant with a black audience will turn to those they think will connect with that audience.

So it is driven by a want of higher viewership.

Therefore it is good when many people DO speak up and let it be known that performers like DL Hughley do not have our ear.

Yes, the writers of The Cosby Show are alive and well. Susan Fales-Hill is living in New York. CNN is not ready for the truth and neither is the rest of America.

I lost any modicum of respect that I may have had for DL, when he exploited the Don Imus "Nappy Headed Hos" Incident by appearing on late night talk shows saying that the Rutgers Basketball team were indeed some ugly women. Rather than defend those girls who were in the right place doing the right thing, he chose to be a coon and when he was confronted by various groups he became defensive and started sputtering about freedom of speech. Yeah, just because you are free to say something doesn't mean you should. He has never apologized for that mess. I will never support anything even remotely associated with DL Hughley

DL Hughley is intolerable.

Good riddance! We do not need a Buckwheat-coiffed, Steppin Fetchit to bring his black perspective to the news.
