Chicago Defender: "Domestic Violence Hits Black Women Harder"

As part of Domestic VIolence Awareness Month, the Chicago Defender printed an article by Kathy Chaney titled "Domestic Violence Hit Black Women Harder." It is about a recent study by the The Violence Policy Center, called "When Men Murder Women: An Analysis of 2006 Homicide Data,"
The study stated there were 1,818 race-identified females murdered by males. And while white women accounted for the largest total of those killed–1,208–African American women were killed at a rate nearly three times higher. Chicago Defender

Nothing that we didn't know, but there is yet another study confirming that the rates of violence are far higher for Black women than our White, Hispanic, and Asian counterparts.

This debunks all those men and women flock to this blog to try to convince us that there is nothing "different" about the levels of violence committed against Black women.
Concern Trolls: Loop de doop de dooo. Nothing to see here. Just step over those dead bodies and keep walking. No need to be alarmed. Have some purple Koolaid.

To concede to these stats would make "folks" look bad and nothing is more important that keeping up "appearances" As usual, however, the study doesn't ask WHY? Again, because trying to figure out "Why?" would make folks look bad. Therefore, the problem must be marginalized and ignored because it's far better to have large segments of the population live under the tyranny of violence and fear than to risk addressing the problem and generating bad PR. Because maintaining appearances is working so well for us.
