Boondocks Does Send Up of BET, Debra Lee, and Whatshisname Hudlin

Warning! It's "The Boondocks" May be NSFW (Not Safe for Work).

"The Boondocks" did a send up of Debra Lee, BET, and Reginald Hudlin. Hudlin was an executive producer of of "The Boondocks." I wonder what went down there?
Aaron McGruder and film producer/director Reginald Hudlin created a Boondocks pilot for the Fox Network, but found great difficulty in making the series acceptable for network television. Hudlin left the project after the Fox deal fell through, although McGruder and Sony Television are contractually bound to continue to credit him as an executive producer.[2] Wikipedia

Anyway, I am kind of mad because I had my own "Debra Lee"-inspired art coming out in February. I can't top this though.

Don't forget that there is a protest scheduled on the 12th outside of the BET Honors Awards Show in Washington, DC. Enough is Enough Campaign.

I was going to reveal some new foolishness BET is engaged in involving sponsors, but after seeing this, I feel bad. Between "The Boondocks" and folks circling her lawn, I almost feel guilty for Debbie Lee and her multimedia crack peddling ways until I remember "BET Uncut" and a certain MESS.

Bonus: Who else thinks Rev. Goodlove is a composite of Sharpton and Jackson?

Tonight, The Boondocks was SUPPOSED to broadcast a sendup of BET, Lee, Hudlin, & Sharpton, but it has since been pulled and replaced with an episode from the first season.

These clips which were on the website to promote the airing have been removed.

Don't know yet when it will air.

If you put yourself out there like Debra Lee has~when it comes back~it is what-it-is! The sad part is there seems to be a lot of truth in the humour.

As far as the Rev. is concerned~he has that Al Sharpton flare with a Jesse Jackson background.

I liked the part about the unemployed BET workers. If WALLY WORLD folks are taking up a collection for you~then you know you are really broke!

I agree with Msladydeborah: the Rev. is a combination of the Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

When the Walmart employee thanked Jesus for not working at BET, LOL, that took the cake.

I can't feel sorry for Debra Lee. Everyone has to take personal responsibility for the things that they affiliate themselves with. Maybe next time, she'll use better judgement.

I don't feel one teaspoonful of pity for Debra Lee...

And you know what... I wonder if the sendup of that episode was canceled because it was - I dunno -- DEGRADING TO DEBRA LEE?!?!

So why does she get protection from ridicule when EVERY OTHER BLACK WOMAN IN AMERICA does not? Hmph.

I would be the first to say that I don't watch the Coondocks - oops I mean 'Boondocks.' But dishonorable people have a way of turning on each other, if you give them enough time.

Is there another video available to watch? This one isn't working. Anyways I don't feel sorry for Debra Lee at all. At first I was glad that there was a woman president but since she changed positions I haven't really seen a change in BET.

Pure. Hilarity.

Lee could've been an effective pawn, had she had her priorities straight and her conscience right.

Maybe she'll reform some day.

Oh My!

LMAO!!!

Great vid.

And yes...that was a symbol of the CRIC Rev's.

Clips removed from the website?????
Interesting.

Everyone,

I just found a new link to the ant-BET Boondocks episode preview:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwA6pB4ZIWU

The irony is the link was indirectly provided by a BET commentator angered by the criticism directed at the network:

http://www.hudlinentertainment.com/smf/index.php?topic=2901.msg48374#msg48374

This indeed confirms that that God has a sense of humor.

Whoa. WHOA, Fred. You're talking about me, and you're mistaken. I'm not a BET commentator - rather, I'm a former (hallelujah!) commentator who was writing about the clip for a blog.

Second, I'm not angry by the clip as much as I am baffled by it. Whoever came up with "The Coondocks" is right on. So you suggesting that BET employees are sitting around angry about the clip and accidentally let it slip are erroneous, indeed.

Third...does the term "writers' strike" mean anything to anyone? Just checking.

Anyway, the next time you want to talk about the humor of your dear and fluffy lord, trying being a bit more accurate. It's all I ask.

(This post will disappear in 5...4...3...2...)
