What a Way to End the Holiday... Brooklyn Gang Rape...Moving to Canada

Didn't I say that Dunbar Village was part of a pattern? Tactics that we are used to hearing about in war torn regions half a world away are now being employed against Black women and girls in this country by criminal elements within the African American community.

A mother and daughter in Brooklyn were raped by members of a street gang as part of an unpaid debt related to a drug deal. Thanks Fred for the heads up.

I'm going to walk away for a minute and hunt for that application for Canadian citizenship.

How many more of these crimes is it going to take for us to wake up and realize that the we got our own Janjaweed in America?

In ten years will Black women an girls even be able to leave their homes without an armed escort? Will we be safe to go out and go grocery shopping? Right now, women in some parts of Africa can't even go get water without running the risk of being raped.

No really, I can move to the Canadian Rockies and live off the land. I just need a satellite dish to keep up with the outside world and I'm set.

related story on just how far people are willing to go for money, revenge, etc. to terrorize communities.

Many Drug Kidnappings Go Under the Radar

"At one point this was strictly limited to people that were part of the drug world, but in recent years it has expanded beyond that," Assistant Philadelphia District Attorney James Berardinelli said.

The book, Survivig the Silence by Charlotte Piere-Baker (Norton, 2000) is in part a recount of her own home invasion rape story and the terror her family experiences as well as her recovery from the night of terror that took place in her Philadelphia suburban home. Charlotte also takes the time to tell the rape stories of other women -- this is a true survival guide for African American women. This book also demonstrates the power of healing, resilency and power in the face of danger and loss.

I have read enough to know that we have to be prepared so I too am taking a self-defense course...
