Nappy-headed Ho' now the go to joke for Waning D-List Comics

It never ends does it folks? What do you do when your comedic career is tanking, your television show is canceled, and you haven't had a hit movie since patent leather shows and Hammer pants were in? Well you pull out the Nappy-headed Ho' card. Guaranteed to get a laugh out of your mostly white audience. It's okay to laugh about it.

We've been covering the latest on DL Hughley and his attack on the Rutgers basketball team. Well yesterday, Chris Rock played the Nappy-headed Ho' card. You can read about it here and here.

I wonder if I am being counterproductive by giving them the attention they so desperately long for ( at any cost).

You know this just highlights how Black women have no one to defend our honor. See, nothing is a "problem" in the Black community unless it involves Black men. Sexism within the Black community is just ridiculous.

However, I believe we should hold Black people accountable when they act a fool just like white people. I don't like double standards.

Naw, you're not being counterproductive giving these lame windbags a mention on your blog! You're just pointing out the fact that sadly, Hollywood is full of low talent, low road, low brow performers that aren't strong enough to show a few ounces of integrity.

It's almost as if they figure "we're comedians, people will laugh at us, so we can say what we want - it's what people expect." Unfortunately it's all we can expect because so many of these men and women love the travel the path already beaten.

I will say this...white folks will laugh at whatever-especially if they see black folks nodding and falling out on the floor laughing. Black D-list comics have been telling ignorant stereotypical jokes about black women for years...and until we stop laughing and tell them to write more intelligent material, they'll keep doing it...
