The Universe is Mocking Me: Rev. Sharpton's Brother, Kenneth, Calls Into the WAOD Radio Show - No Blood Letting Occurred

Those of you who have followed this blog from the very beginning know that the Universe openly mocks me. I mean, literally, I make plans and vows and the Universe says "Oh really?" and then I am forced to deviate from MY plans. So yesterday was supposed to be a good news show and it was nothing but bad from the start.
First, Blog Talk Radio went crazy and the switchboard got messed up to the first 15 minutes of the show are garbage. Then I talk for about five minutes with the mute . Just DRAMA! Then I finally get it together and WHO is my first caller of the evening? Rev. Kenneth Glasgow.
Don't know who Rev. Glasgow is? Well, he's Rev. Al Sharpton's brother and Yeah, I clowned him yesterday when I said this
I won't give the details of the conversation because I think some of what was said could potentially be quite harmful to the case, but if you haven't listened to a single episode of the Black women's round table, you need to listen to this one. I doubt they gone let him call back in to the show. He was good natured about it all.
At the end of the day, I want justice. I want these people in jail for the rest of their natural lives. I hope we all want that and that the five ring circus that has surrounded this case get reigned in. This should not be a case about a bunch of Black men fighting for who gets to lead whose march. This woman was BRUTALLY ATTACKED. She should be the focus. No, I do not believe that you have to march side by side with Malik Shabazz to indicate your support of Megan Williams.
Merry Christmas Rev. Glasgow!! Your brother finally got his recompense, for me criticizing him for half the year, my GOOD NEWS CHRISTMAS SPECIAL went all wild and wacky! I told Y'all Tiny Tot was going to put a root on me.

We had an interesting conversation. It was truly an experience. The volume on the podcast is completely out of wack, so he sounds extremely low, but if you increase your volume when he speaks you should be able to hear. WE ARE EDITING THE AUDIO TO BALANCE OUT THE VOLUME. SO COME BACK LATER TO HEAR THE EQUALIZED SHOW.

Then get rid of the folks causing the disunity. Sidebar - Al Sharpton has a brother? I guess he is Sharpton's lieutenant. Bout time he appointed one.

I must admit I enjoyed it myself last night sister Gina. I have a better understanding of where you are coming from.
However I'm not my brother's Lt. I'm his brother and we both stand on our own.

This was a fascinating show...
A few observations:
1)The honest critique of another black person's behavior/philosophy is black-on-black crime? Really?
2)The reverend did not talk over the other male participant (J.D.) to the extent he interrupted Gina.
5) Despite this, and the obvious philisophical differences, everyone managed to stay civil. So kudos to all of you.
4)Does anyone else HATE IT when a person with whom you do not share a common parent calls you "sister?" I can't stand that. Yuck.

First, I had no idea Al Sharpton had a brother, and I honestly feel no smarter for learning he does. I listened to the rebroadcast, and I could barely contain myself. I completely feel he missed the point about not having M.W. give accounts in the media of the offense. That truly was a gift to any Defense attorney worth his salt. Does the good Rev. not at least watch Law and Order? EVERYTHING thing she says in regards to the offense is now in the public realm and unlike before when a perrson could just deny having said something, the internet has made that all but impossible these days. There seems to be no one really looking out for her well-being. Everyone wants to be seen, as the old folks say. Everytime he would reference his having been in prison, I could not help from thinking of the other "jail-house" attorneys out there who think they know the law better than an actual lawyer. He was combative and untruthful on several points. What really slayed me was when he was asked about how the cases they advocate on behalf are chosen! I nearly passed out when he gave the age old "the Lord chooses..." answer. I saw it coming, but I still wanted to holla!!
At some point, his brother and others of his ilk, were designated the spokespeople for all Black people. Contrary to (thier own)and popular belief they do not speak for me or other more intelligent Black people. Infact, I think they do us more harm than good. Malcolm was a leader. Martin was a leader. They are a show! They skipped the zoo and went straight to the circus.
Good job Gina for letting the good Rev. know what the law really is and how they are jeopardizing the case AND MEGAN'S EMOTIONAL, MENTAL, AND SPIRITUAL well-being.

When that man said it was black on black crime, I thought I was seriously going to have to leave work and get in my car so I could scream! That was ONE of the craziest things he said.
Also, it was pissing me off when he kept calling Gina "sister." To me he sounded so condescending. He is not as smart as he thinks, and I was so happy when Gina reminded him whose show he was on!
And another thing, I am so sick of some black men talking to black women as if we are all hysterical and need to sit down and let "the men folks handle thangs." Disgusting! What M.W. was to be surrounded by WOMEN who could love her and nurture her. Having endured an assault, having men, and strange men at that, around me would have done nothing to sooth me. terrible.
