The REAL Obama Girls -Aren't They Precious? - Obama's Daughters in Holiday Greeting

Y'all remember Obama Girl and that "I Got a Crush on Obama" Foolishness? It was an attack ad. I don't care what anybody says. Well Check out the real Obama girls.

I love seeing seemingly well-adjusted children. Just cute. Precious. They almost make me want to vote for him just to see them playing on the White House lawn and greeting foreign dignitaries. I said ALMOST. Might I also add that Michelle has never looked better. Check out that hand on knee action.

I know folks have been obsessed with whether or not Mike Huckabee has a floating cross in his campaign Christmas commercial so we missed this one from the Obamas. Well at least the Obama girls didn't hang a stray dog from a tree while they were at camp the way Mike Huckabee's son did when he was 17.

Let's just hope the National Enquirer doesn't dig up a love child scandal the way they just did with John Edwards. I hope this is a lie, but the National Enquirer has been duking it out with Edwards over this one for months. They aren't letting this one go.

Other Campaign Christmas Videos ( I don't want y'all whining and demanding equal time)

John Edwards ( boring and policy filled. Didn't make me feel festive at all- The Christmas Grinch!)
Hillary Clinton (very "secular" and Hillary-centered)
Mike Huckabee ( I liked it. It was kind of mellow. Yeah there is a floating cross/bookcase in the background. So what?)
Ron Paul ( Very frenetic pace. I got dizzy and confused)
Rudy Guiliani (Um, I know there is a running joke there, but I thought it was corny- no wonder he's tanking in the polls.- He doesn't reek of hearth and home)

Thanks for posting them all, Gina. Very interesting to see their interpretations of this holiday through a political scope. I'm glad you have Rudy "Guliassi" last. His was a joke. I would have barfed my breakfast if I'd clicked on his first.

I gotta say, though, that I was impressed that the Huckster was the only candidate to mention Christ, the absolute true meaning behind this holiday we call Christmas. That little move will probably cost him some votes, but whatever. But I'm glad someone didn't bother to paint over the holiday's true meaning with some dry, ecumenical statement.

I actually liked them all. I think that Barack & Hillary's were the best.

I liked them all except Guiliani's (he really needs to stop it with the sweater.)

And I don't mind at all that Mike Huckabee mentioned Christ. The man is a Baptist minister after all - he would be a hyprocrite not to mention Him in my opinion. I am always put off by people that want to squeeze every reference to Christ out of Christmas as if that will change the original meaning. Please... sometimes my family will mess around and get a birthday cake for Jesus and sing Happy Birthday to him Stevie Wonder style!

That said, OBAMA 08! :)

Wasn't Jesus born in June or during a month OTHER than December? That's for another discussion though. Jesus isn't the reason for this season; if anything the Nazarite's actual b-day occurred during the months that taxes were assessed and people had to show up to give an account. Maybe people should consider JULY 4TH as Christmas Day.

Anyhoo, Ron Paul failed to mention why he kept a donation from a Whit Supremacist who runs the website, Stormfront.org.

I enjoyed Barack's ad the best and my extreme dislike for Hillary has rendered me incapable of reviewing her ad without bias.

The HUCKSTER is still in the dog house with me about his comments regarding AIDS, gays, and how people living with HIV/AIDS should be segregated from the rest of the population.

Rudy was a piece of sh*t during his years as NY mayor and he is a piece of s--- now.

I've heard March, June, all different things. It is well-known that his actual birthday was likely not December 25, but it hasn't stopped Christians from celebrating his birth anyway. Imagine that!

The connection between Jesus and Christmas hasn't been some big secret over the generations. And people taking offense at Christians and Christianity doesn't change that.

Nichelle,

Actually MANY Christians believe that Jesus was born in December. Since I am not Christian, I couldn't care less about whether or no the Huckster mentioned it in his ad.

In my experience, Christmas is about crass materialism, fierce decorating competitions, and temporary debt. With the exception of the decorating part (that's just the gay in me), I don't celebrate it. Even now, during this time of the year, I decorate for my friends (both str8 and gay) and I cater/plan their holiday parties.

I'll get back to this topic though... I'll be voting for Obama (hopefully)in '08. If not him, then probably no one.

blkSeagoat,

I KNOW you ain't trying to rain on my Christmas parade! (I'm mean mugging you, :-))

Black Women in '08. No compromises.

SheCodes,

Never that. It's just that people should feel compelled to want to do all of things the Christmas represents all year... not just around December. I never grew up celebrating Christmas anyway. We celebrated Thankstaking. *LOL* I'm just saying...

I will say this though my view of Christians, in general, just isn't too good. I'd be great with an atheist or agnostic for president.

Sadly, that includes many Christians. And the debt part... Let's just say my family is doing it "Pollyanna" style this year. We've all got one name out of a hat (for the adults).

But of course, EVERYBODY is breaking the rules LOL!!!

You cater and decorate? Hmmm... I LOVE all that stuff too! I wish I could get in on some fierce decorating competitions.

I'm leaning in this direction too, but at the end of the day, I'll vote.

I always have visions of all of the black people that could NOT vote ever and I feel obligated.

I know I can vote for Obama at least once - February 5. I'll be there with bells on!

For whatever it's worth, I'm a Christian and I feel the same way.

Well, I haven't had breakfast yet and now I have no appetite.
Yeah...Hillary and Barak have the best spots.

Nichelle,

I can do anything for anyone except myself. I don't know what to do with my space, but I can get inspiration from doing things for other people. Same way with cooking; it becomes a broadway production when I do it for other people, but I can make myself a legume/nut butter sandwich with some type of fruit preserves and I'm all good. *LOL*

Please pray that I don't become to apathetic towards Obama; so far the only reason I've got to vote for him is because he represents the single best effort to be our nation's first black president.

Cynthia McKinney is running too, but her half-baked conspiracy theories (which is sad because she is smart and I like her), coupled with the fact that she's a Green party candidate make her an irrelevant threat.

December 20, 2007 | Unregistered CommenterBLKSeaGoat

I really think most non-Christians couldn't care less about what Christians do as long as its not forced on them.

Thats how I am at least. I see the "war on Christians" (or is it attack?)as a few squeaky wheels.

True symphony, but in Huckabee's case, his faith clouds his judgement, because he believes in marginalizing people based on morality.

December 20, 2007 | Unregistered CommenterBLKSeaGoat

The girls were too cute for words.

About the Edwards/Enquirer thing:

I just want to point out this:

1. Last week's headline was-
STEADMAN TO OPRAH - I'VE HAD ENOUGH (seems that Obama is the cause)

2. Now, this week, John Edwards and a love child.

Now, maybe I'm just a tinfoil hat conspiracist at heart....

But, ya think that this has anything to do with Clinton PAL and HUGE BOOSTER Ron Burkle RECENTLY BUYING The Enquirer?

Well, Inquiring minds want to know.

Maybe it's just ' coincidence', these two headlines.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

One of the most compelling things about Obama's holiday ad is that he was willing and able to show a loving Black family to the nation. That's powerful in and of itself.
