This Week's WAOD Wagging Finger of SHAME Award: Tatsha Robertson

By: Symphony, WAOD Contributor
This Week's Wagging Finger of Shame Award Goes to Essence magazine editor Tatsha Robertson for being a complete and total embarrassment to Black women everywhere for saying this foolishness on CNN:

"Even though she's Hillary Clinton, they [Black women] see themselves, you know, within her, dealing with the family issues, the infidelity issues."

According to CNN's Chris Lawrence Robertson says Clinton's ultimate embarrassment is her greatest asset. Robertson went on to say:

"She decided, you know, whether she wanted to stay or not, and I really think, you know, people respect that about Hillary Clinton, especially black women. " (SOURCE)

CNN has the video up. .
*Man, I didn't want to do that to Essence, LOL. Gina is somewhere falling off a chair, choking off of a snort and shaking her head all at the same time. DOH! -Symphony.

Essence has got to be about sick of WAOD and Miss Gina, 'specially after it so appropriately acknowledged her efforts! :>

Oh Well. The truth is what it is. Keep up the good work.

Oh my effing God! I don't know why I expected any better from those fucktards over at Essence magazine. That ranks right up there with folks claiming Bill as a 'black' president because his personal life was such an effing mess.

Is it possible, just possible that black women like Hillary for the same reasons anyone else likes a candidate? You know, her views, her positions, her body of work? Or maybe they identify her with Bill who was immensely popular with black women. Or, here's a radical thought; maybe they think as a woman she's more likely to look out for the interests of other women. Geez, this is getting stupider by the minute.

I most offended by the fact that she's a grown woman, and a literary professional to boot, who continuously peppers her speech with the phrase “you know” like some have illiterate teenager who hasn’t learned how to express herself yet – you know?

LOL. I just really can't believe she said that. NBC shoulda booked her for their "in-depth" look at black women and relationships. Sounds like she got a story to tell!

Isn't this woman entitled to her opinion? Maybe her opinion wasn't as informed as yours, and maybe she didn't answer as eloquently as you would have had CNN interviewed you, but geez back off. When we react like this, we encourage the idea that its OK to let a select few black people represent us all.

Moving on....

There is a difference between eloquence and saying black women relate to Hillary because of infidelity. Thats just a dumb claim.

No surprised in the least. It sounds just as bad as referring to Clinton as "The 1st Blk Pres" cuz she smoked weed, plays the sax, & repeatedly cheated on his wife. Isn't that just wonderful? *Rolls eyes*

The fact that she was on CNN makes her representative of us for that moment & she shoulda been responsible. She's part of our so-called Blk Bible & she made a brainless statement like that? If Robertson has a right to her opinion, then likewise for Gina & the rest of us who disagree with her.

Ms. Symphony, you have done it again. Your post was straight to the point, well articulated and heartfelt. I'm dissapointed in Essence but I continue to hold out hope that it can be saved since it has such a rich history and I love Susan Taylor. As for Hillary, I just do not trust her because she does not take a concrete stand on any issue. Sister roslynholcomb you had me falling out off my seat laughing along with your comments. Just one thing: What is a "fucktard"? lol
Mr.Shadow signing off.

Mrshadow those were Her Royal Dictator's words I just plugged in names and quotes.

And of course the sympathies for Essence were my heartfelt words. LOL

Now now. that was suggested language, but the sentiments expressed are moi's although I didn't know the woman was from Essence. They have got to HATE WAOD up at ESSENCE communications.

I'm sorry, but if you go on CNN and spout some foolishness like that, you deserve a public shaming.

We're a tiny little blog. No one will notice that we gave her the WAOD Wagging Finger of Shame Award... Or will they? hmmmm

This does not surprise me at all coming from Essence. I personally beleive Essence has lost sight of it's vision of the past few years. I am glad that Gina made it on the top 25 list but I had a real issue with Jena 6 being on that list. Check my blog for my entire post when you get a chance http://reginasfamilyseasons.blogspot.com
Blessings!
