Oops, we did it again
Okay there was nothing accidental about Blogging While Brown 2009. The conference is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work by a small dedicated group of souls who managed to manage my attempt to manage them for the past year. I learned a lot this year about delegation and “letting go.” No I didn’t place myself on a panel this year, but I did teach and 8-hour class called The Beginning Blogger Boot Camp on Friday and they wore me OUT
. I think I’ve found my calling, to go forth throughout the world locking myself in a classroom with folks who won’t let me out until I reveal to them the ancient secrets of blogging. This photo was taken by Freddy O.
This isn’t the official Blogging While Brown end of conference post, I’ll have to do that on Monday when my brain cells have recovered. These are just my personal observations.
Yes I’m bleary eyed and I have a ton of raw video to upload and the folks at NextGenWeb.org taped and tweeted the entire conference. There will also be video popping up from all of the attendees. Here is some video.
This video was taken at the welcome receptions and features Monroe Anderson(monroeanderson), Cheryl Contee (www.jackandjillpolitics.com), Naoko McCracken (Wordpress) and Dirck Hargraves (AT&T).
Blogging While Brown Documentary
Here is some more video courtesy of world renowned videographer Carlos Quiroz. (peruanista.com)He interviewed every. single. person that attended the conference. Up close
So if Carlos didn’t interview you, I can’t really be sure that you were there. In this clip Carlos interviews Shawn from Dallas South and JD from The Smak.
Carlos introduces himself
And in Spanish
Relive the conference on Twitter:
If you want to relive the conference, you can follow the Twitstream. Somewhere around 4:00 on Saturday things started to get a little rowdy thanks to a certain someone *ahem* referring to certain print publications as “artifacts.”
Beginner Blogger Bootcampers
This year we expanded our conference to include the first ever beginner blogger bootcamp. Did I mention that They. Wore. Me. Out!!! But in a good way.
Rabble rousers!
In the future I think I’ll be focusing on the pre-conference boot camps and leaving the conference planning and programming details to someone else. I can do that because this year a fabulous team of folks stepped up the plate and took a HUGE burden off of my shoulders.
There would not be a Blogging While Brown 2010, if these people hadn’t step up to the plate for Blogging While Brown 2009, because I couldn’t keep up my current pace. So a BIG BIG thank you to our conference coordinator Shalon, the conference programming committee chair, Shawn P. Williams, and the fabulous ladies from 5 and a Possible. Thanks to the speakers, the panelists, the moderators, the sponsors and everyone who traveled from places near and far to attend.
Blogging While Brown 2010
Forget what you heard and all the Twitter rumors
We have not decided on a conference location for 2010. The only thing we know at this point is that there will be a conference in 2010. The location is determined by a number of factors including transportation, space availability and cost. If you missed out this year, don’t worry, you can attend next year ( if the universe allows).
Shout out to my new road dawgs
My absolute favorite part of conferences is sitting at a table and chilling

Great job! Loving the videos and the commentary.
2 golf claps to all who made this a great event.
… And the next conference will be in the Mid-Atlantic area, within reach of Amtrak, or mass transit, right?
Hope I did not come across as demanding. Just dropping a hint.
Rabble Rouser? Who? Little Ol’ Me? Well, I NEVER!!! Tee hee… Pinky promise to bring more rabble and less rouse to the 2010 conference! I had a FABulous time, learned soo soo much, and would totally love to help in anyway possible! The conference was awesome! Can’t wait for next year.
Congrats to you on a job well done!!! Sorry that I missed all the fun. : – (
However, I am enjoying the videos.
Fun, informative and well organized. I learned SO much and put faces to voices that I’ve read online.
Now… to put to use all the knowledge that was shared.
Sorry I couldn’t stop by this weekend. Looks like it was a great event!
If this conference was a dessert, it’d be a Bailey’s Irish Cream Cheesecake with pecans and caramel. THAT is how awesome it was.
Loved meeting everyone!!! There’s a recap at my blog also.
Bring the conference to Philly or NYC! Or D.C.!
