Biden is not perfect, nobody is, but he is more experienced than any body else at this point.

McCain doesn’t know what’s going on in this country, or in his own life.

Obama and Biden had to work for everything they have got-

McCain married a rich woman and ultimately picked a pretty gal to run along side him.

If McCain chooses Romney, he loses most, if not all, of the Evangelical vote. That’s what stopped Romney’s campaign in the Primaries; the Evangelicals absolutely do not regard the LDS church as ‘real’ Christians and they wouldn’t vote for him at all.

I can’t see Team McCain writing off 9 million votes.

@famuan.. spoken like a true Obama Acolyte. When will you realize that people who wish to offer up a different opinion are not stupid, are not evil, are not naysayers. They are American citizens with a right to express their opinion.

Those who don’t agree with the Biden DO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT… because they are talking about THEIR opinion. To which they are entitled. YOU on the other hand are annoying because you came to a place, A BLOG, inorder to chastise people for sharing their opinions. So if anyone doesn’t know what they are talking about, it is YOU.

Notice how a long list of people have disagree with each other on the choice and have offered reasons WHY. YOU on the otherhand chose to attack complete strangers, who are probably Obama supporters, because they merely said they didn’t agree with the choice.

In other words…stay out of my comments section if you don’t have anything substantive to offer to the discussion. … OR ELSE!

Unless the vice president is going to have undue influence on the president, it really does not matter who they pick. Biden will be too old to run on his own in four or eight years.

I doubt anybody would have been happy with any of Obama’s choices. I am almost giddy to see how McCain responds. Will he go Romney or go for a game changer?

What if he goes after women by selecting Alaska’s govenor? Now THAT woul be an interesting nine weeks.

Say what you will about Joe Biden’s lame comments (bright, articulate, etc.)

His work speaks for him. TWO things, among many, stand out.

1. Biden was a main player in keeping Robert Bork off of the Supreme Court of the US.

2. Biden-Hatch Violence Against Women Act of 2000

I think he’s a great choice!

People, what other choices would you have liked. If Obama picked Hiliary he would have had a lot of backlash. Picking Hilary would have sewn up the conservative base for McLame. All that negative campaigning she did against him would give the Republicans attack ads for years. They’d play Hilary’s attacks from the primaries constantly.

Tim Kaine would have been a bad choice because he doesn’t have a lot of experience. The Republicans were already calling the Kaine and Obama ticket ‘two empty suits’. Bayh is boring as hell and can’t fight. Kathleen S. would have been great but it would have pissed off the Hilary supporters. Bill Richardson would have been nice but everybody knows that’s too much change for one election. Edwards – don’t even go there. Gore wasn’t interested in the job. Web and Randall said hellllllll nooooo. They were completely not interested.

I always find it fascinating when the peanut gallery starts whinning about what Obama isn’t doing or shouldn’t do or won’t do or just overall bitching because he’s not liberal enough or progressive enough or he’s gonna “lose the race”, he’s appeasing whites, blacks, southerners, working class, lower class, red, blue…….. WHATEVER.

Conventional wisdom says Barack Hussein Obama should have been out of the Democratic primary race in Feb….but yet here he is with more money raised than McCain and his old nemesis Hillary combined, the DNC headquarters moved to Chi-town, and people griping that he is not leading ENOUGH. Wow. Sorry, but I think all the naysayers are just…well….just dont know what the hell they’re talking about.

I’m not pleased but then this choice wasn’t made to appease me. It’s all about winning. I get that Obama is covering his bases. But with him being #1 and Pelosi #3 he had to pick a white guy for #2. And he said Biden is ready to be President. I’m in a safe state so I am considering voting Green. We’ve got a little over 10 weeks before the election and I will be evaluating Biden during this time. I’ll continue to do my part but I certainly don’t want to feel like I have to compromise. Either way McCain needs to be gone! I was just hoping for a little excitement and anticipation now I feel like I’ve been kicked in the gut. I’ll see how I feel after the Convention activities next week.

I never thought Biden was a liberal because he’s a Democrat. IMO, Biden is a liberal because of his voting record. Is he as liberal as Kucinich? Nope, but there are different degrees of liberal, and Biden certainly leans to the left. No true liberal has a shot in hell at being elected in this country anytime soon, but by choosing someone who is to the left Obama seems to be shoring up his base.

Regardless of what the folk at CNN might or might not be saying, I can’t imagine his choice being an appeal to blue collar white voters. Especially considering that as his opponent HRC had that bloc sewed up. Presumably if he really wanted to signal to them he would’ve chosen her. As I understand it, she was never a viable candidate.

I don’t think Obama’s base will be upset about Biden. From what I’ve seen they seem quite happy with the choice.
