Michelle Obama and Barack Resign Church: Rev. A. Larm Clock Sr. Responds

Michelle, the weeMichelle’s and Barack have resigned from Trinity United Church, and I can say I blame them all that much for doing it after the comments from the pulpit over the past week:

The resignation comes days after the Rev. Michael Pfleger, a visiting Catholic priest, mocked Obama’s Democratic rival during a sermon at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois. In the video, Pfleger wipes his eyes with a handkerchief and suggests that Sen. Hillary Clinton wept because she thought that as a white person and the wife of a former president, she was entitled to the presidency.”And then, out of nowhere, came ‘Hey, I’m Barack Obama,’ ” Pfleger said “And [Clinton] said, ‘Oh, damn, where did you come from? I’m white! I’m entitled! There’s a black man stealing my show!’ ” cnn.com

If I was held responsible for every word that came out of someone else’s mouth and they continued to say stuff that kept me constantly embroiled in controversy, I’d bounce too.

Barack Obama has resigned his 20 year membership in the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago in the aftermath of inflammatory remarks by his longtime pastor the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and more recent fiery remarks at the church by another minister. MSNBC

Monroe Anderson passed on the story to reporters according to Roland Martin.

Not only that, but the members of the church have been catching Hell ( pardon the pun) as well. This is America, people have the right to worship or not worship the God or Goddess of their choice without their congregation being descended upon by outsiders taking notes.

My pastor, the Rev. Dr. A. Larm Clock Sr., just sent me an email extending an invitation for Michelle the weeMichelle’s and Barack to join us each Sunday at Bedside Baptist Church. Bedside Baptist is the first church in the country to have an award winning distance education Sunday School program. Just kidding Mama, I will be at 8:00 service bright and early tmr!

DISCLAIMER: The views expressed by Rev. A. Larm Clock, Sr. are not necessarily my own or the Lord Almighty’s for that matter.

In addition to the Democrats finally reserving the Florida and Michigan Delegate situation, they are going halfsies and awarding each delegate from those states a half vote. I haven’t had time to digest the numbers yet.

Is Rev Pfleger aware he is responsible for hauling Barack, Michelle and the girls out of their 20 year church by going off so nasty at Hillary!?
What burns me further is that he is a crazed wigger trying to do the Man’s dirty work in our community!
Where’d he learn his ghetto — I wasn’t aware they off er Ebonics at Catholic Seminary. Nuff said on that white boy.

Hey there!

Barack simply “used” the Pfleger incident to distance himself…he was planning to leave Trinty LOOOONG BEFORE that in order to appease white factions…I would respect him if he would just admit it publicly rather than attempting to blame a GUEST preacher for his reason to leave his own church…how many people will leave a church based on what a GUEST has done?? It’s just toooo lame of a reason to be believed….

Thanks for letting me blow my trumpet!

“This is America, people have the right to worship or not worship the God or Goddess of their choice without their congregation being descended upon by outsiders taking notes.”

Yes! Leave the congregation alone.

To resign from one’s church…

He should just do it until he receives the Presidency. Then the issues that really matter in the world will be on the frontline…or at least anyone that still cares about this issue probably wont be in a position to ‘do anything’ about it.

I like Obama, but this whole church thing is a mess. He was a member for 20 long years!!! He knew how Rev. Wright was but he stayed. He is not responsible for every guest preacher that steps up on stage. By him annoucing his departure, and making statments everytime somebody gets up there talking bad about Billary (even if what they say is true), it is making him look bad. It’s like he threw his church under the bus….

I feel bad for Barack, Michelle & the girls still… But do you know another family I feel bad for (I hate to say it aloud for fear of people hating on me) — I feel sorry for Bill and Hillary Clinton. I feel our memory’s too short. Nobody’s perfect but Bill Clinton was someone we once loved and lost sight of. He gathered $200,000 plus into retail and restaurants and housing in Harlem, and all I hear is B.S. about him now. Isn’t it awful that we
just roll over with every tide? that’s from the heart okay?

Wilfrido-

Whatever you have to say is irrelevant to me because you obviously know very little about Rev. Michael Pfleger yet you feel the need to disrespect him? I never was in love with the Clintons. You can continue to feel as if you owe them something however I do not.

I am very mixed when with this decision. I will however blame the media.

I meant to say that,

I am very mixed with this decision. I will however blame the media.

I am particulary upset with the fact that the white mainstream media was able to get away with mocking and distorting a black institution. The cultural ignorance that is passed off as journalism is simply astounding. Nevertheless, it is not new

Rhonda, nobody said a thing about being “in love with the Clintons” — I said lots of us loved them in the 90s and that’s the God’s truth. Bill lifted us up and we had his back when the hypocrites came to bring him down (I’m 52 — I remember)… Let the world deny it, you middle aged folks all know it is so. I don’t disrespect Fr Pfleger, I’m Catholic myself, and he has done so much in his ministry. I was probably been emotional to blame him as much as I did — its just that he showed a bad temper and bad timing in way he cut Hillary, hurting her & Barack right before his final victory. That’s not in the job-description of a Catholic priest, a Minister, Imam, or Rabbi.

Wilfrido-

Yea, I remember how delusional blacks were running down the Clintons…ha!

They were looking to get Pfleger for a long, long time. He has made a lot of comments in regards to this election from January February…he was very vocal when the media tore down Wright. The media was also following him then.

Is it safe to say that the media has no business in the people’s church? Lets get real!

“That’s not in the job-description of a Catholic priest, a Minister, Imam, or Rabbi.”

I love how people are defining the jobs of these people when they FEEL LIKE. I’m Catholic too!!!!!!

Rhonda,
I’m glad I can speak as Catholic to Catholic with you for a moment, The Roman Catholic Church is a hierarchical Church that teaches St. Peter and all Apostles received their authority from Christ. The Church next teaches that our Bishops are the rightful successors of the Apostles. Fr Pfleger has received from his Bishop the instruction to rest, reflect and to refrain from the pastorate for 2 weeks. If you are a Roman Catholic you will grant that Francis Cardinal George had the godly authority to tell Fr Michael to do this. You may disagree but Cardinal George is Christ’s top authority in the Church in the archdiocese of Chicago. I hope you agree that a congregationalist understanding cannot be called a real Roman Catholic theology.
Yes I agree with you that the Media have no authority to judge Fr Michael Pfleger or St. Sabina’s — they have no power in the church. Pastors/Priests are ordained by Bishops — not pundits.

Wilfrido,

I am sick of the Catholic church because I find them to be hypocritical despite the fact that I was raised Catholic.

Listen, why did the Catholic church cover for sexual molesters. Three of the altar children at my church were victims. The archdiocese covered for the priests. Why didn’t they use all of their power then?

The hypocrisy is something that I cannot take. Their motives are obvious. They were out to get the man for years and they found an excuse.

I agree that the US Catholic molestation scandal was terrible, and that some leaders proved to be unworthy – we got a right to be angry. But you got to recall that every child ministry draws predators and that goes for Boy Scouts, School Teachers,Ministers, Counselors,Big Brother/Big Sister — you name it, the stats on leader deviance in these groups is same rate as the priests. Only good thing I can say is that alot of bad priests got found out and now Catholic parents with brains put no priest or Youth Minister on a pedestal like before.

Rhonda, I speak from my heart when I say I hope you can be a Catholic again. I say that because
Jesus Christ comes to be my Sacrifice, Guest, and Food at his Altar…and I can go to Him with brothers and sisters every morning.
