File this under too much time on my hands. I just got through reading an 18 page legal brief that contains MORE text messages between Christin Beatty and Kwame Kilpatrick that Detroit Free Press held back(ie, the most embarrassing ones). I suffered a bout of insomnia so I transcribed a couple of pages for y’all. You can read the entire thing here courtesy of the Detroit Free Press.
Excerpts from “When ‘Nigga’ met ‘Niggette’” — My thoughts are in red
Page 9 — Why Don’t You Smile at Me like that?
Christine Beatty to Kwame Kilpatrick: “Are you on a date with your wife? Oooo I’m jealous. I’m a little too into you these past few days.
Lou Beatty to Christine Beatty:“How is your day? It’s amazing how you can go out of town, come back refreshed and I immediately piss you off…You had an attitude until KK came over. Then you were smiling. Wish you smiled at me like that.” [Poor Lou- He knew]
Page 10 — One Day I’m Going to be Their Stepdad Then Christine wants Kwame to see her baby before she takes the child to the dentist and Kwame later says “I may be their stepdad one day.” — They brought the kids into the foolishness.
CB:“My baby wanted to see you. I was just trying to make it happen before we went to the dentist” KK:“Come on Momma” CB: “Thanks for that” KK: I enjoy that. I might be their stepdad one day CB:Why might? What happened to “not yet”? KK: The “might is on you” CB:LOL Nigga, I already claimed it! KCK 2010. You told me that you would be my boyfriend everyday until I was your wife. Are you renigging? KK:Hell no! Don’t start none. Won’t be none niggette! LOL He later signs off with “My nigga! I love you, you know that.”
Page 11- Christine becomes clingy.
This is actually kinda sad to read… but I will force myself to trudge on Page 12, more of Christine getting played
CB: Thinking about how hard you diss me, I still want to be in your arms, kiss you, hug you, love you. Listening to you speak and wishing you were my husband. No response needed to this[girl like he ever responds to your long winded text messages], but when [you] held me in your arms and looked me in the eyes and said I was your woman. All was right with the world. I love you. KK: Damn! Thank you [Oh come on! she said all that and all he said was thanks!-] CB: Can you promise me that I will always be that? [ Um "no" he can't seeing as how he already promised that to his wife, Carlita] KK: You were my girl for as long as I can remember. I was too young and stupid to know [still stupid] I promise for the rest of my life you will be my girl. [as he goes home to his wife.]
Page 13 The following takes place during/after Christine divorces her husband. Note Kwame’s respone at the end of her soliloquy
CB: Ahh. I’m about to cry. Thank you for that. You need to know that you are the man in my life that I depend on most [warning Christine, you are beginning to sound like a wife and not a mistress] Or should I have jut stopped at ‘ the man in my life’? I have an insecure thing going on with you right not and I know where it came from. Kind of started when you got back from your trip and I couldn’t see you. TBc(to be continued)… Then we the separation thing with Lou and it really kicked in, and we had our conversation at Tom’s it kind of escalated. When i told you started singing ‘A Stranger’s love,” and I told you that you seemed that kind of man who be married to your wife forever, you kinda nodded like “yep”. TBC.. I was really kind of trippin after that because of two reasons. I can’t see living this way with us being ’secret’ forever. [sound of Christine sealing her fate as the nonfuture Mrs. Kilpatrick] I love you so much and i want to tell somebody, someday![you just did]. (Smile). Secondly, this separation is really real and it kind of slapped ‘lonely’ in my mind… when you didn’t some on Saturday until 3 hours later, that kind of just topped it off for me. So I’m sorry if I’ve been trippin. I could only two way this! I couldn’t have said it to you personally! [and boy did you say it]
But wait y’all. Wait. Read Kwame’s response to her five paragraph message..
KK: In this important and somewhat confusing time in your life, please know with all our hearts and soul that I love you and you will never, never be alon. TBC[to be continued]
Did that sound like a greeting card to y’all?
Page 14 – Reason and Necessity The texts are not in chronological order in the document compare them about six months earlier cutting up.
KK to CB: Everything is cool. Did you get busted? You were kind of ___[I just couldn't force myself to type it. Fill in the blank] last night. inside and out. LOL CB to KK: Oh, you got jokes? Actually I did get busted, which I was checking with you. I wanted to see if you had room on Leslie for me! LOL [she is talking about moving in with him in case she gets kicked out.] KK: LOL LOL LOL! Not on Leslie but anywhere els eyou want to stay. LOL CB: LOL, LOL! Dang, you wouldn’t take me into your home? You told me the other day that you would do anything for me. What happened? [you actually might need something is what happened] KK: LOL LOL LOL! Not the famous flip again. It’s still anything! I should be with reason, necessity. If you really need to stay with me, it’s on. In this case, we could find somewhere else.
Page 15- Why lord Why? — The infamous DC Trip CB to KK: I really wanted to give you some good ___ [again, unlike Christine I couldn't make myself type it- fill in the blank]this morning and I didn’t know how to ask you to let me do it I have wanted to since Friday night when you asked me at the club.
Page 18- Till Death Do Us Part CB to KK: I am madly in love with you too! More and more everyday! I can’t believe how much more it grows. Is there a limit? KK: not til death do us part. CB to KK: Wow! I’ll buy that. [boy did she ever]
I actually feel kinda sorry for them now. She almost had me cracking open my check book to contribute money to the Christine L. Beatty Legal Defense Trust. But instead I’ll save my money to buy her a copy of “They Never Leave the Wife: The Memoir of a Mistress ” or “Some Things Are Best Left Unsaid: Love in the Age of Texting.”
I see two people living in a dream world. A fairytale. This was definitely fantasy land for Kwame and he never had any intention of leaving Carlita for Christine. In the back of her mind, she had to know that, but she still had hope in here eyes. Don’t act like y’all didn’t scrawl y’alls initials on a notebook combining you name with some boy you had a crush on… Most of us haven’t done that as fully grown women, but you see my point. I would actually believe them if they said it was over in 2003 because she started to be more clingy and more of an emotional burden.. less fun.
Wake me when the criminal trial is over. The prosecutors will take care of any lying on the witness stand that took place. The voters, should he run, will issue their decision on whether they want this man to continue as their mayor. Beatty is already divorced. I hit my limit after this last batch. I have officially had enough. There will be no more LOL-ing or TBC about this here. …SMH and LFOL -TTYL – if you don’t know what I just said, you are a bad parent. GTG
Vogue Italia or Italian Vogue’s July issue will feature Black models exclusively. I am not a Vogue reader, but I love the editor’s,Franca Sozzani, response to the fear that the issue will not sell:
“Because nobody is using black girls. I see so many beautiful girls and they were complaining that they are not used enough.”
Ms Sozzani admitted the issue could yet prove to be unpopular among some in Italy, where the xenophobic Northern League is part of the new coalition led by Silvio Berlusconi: “Maybe in our country it is not the best idea. But I don’t care. I think it is not my problem if they don’t like it – it’s their problem.” The Independent
She was like..”Whatever!” Change comes from people being bold enough to take risks. This is making news all over the fashion mags:
The rumors about an all-black issue of Italian Vogue are true! And its cover girl could be none other than 17-year-old rising star Jourdan Dunn. We’re not surprised Dunn landed the issue, considering she was the first black model to walk Prada this past Fashion Week in Milan since Naomi Campbell in 1997. Steven Meisel shot the entire issue with zero white models, in hopes the move will encourage other magazines to diversify. New York Times
So what do you think? Will it sell? Will it change anything in the long run? Do we care? You say what?
Well just when you spend far too many days reading blogs and start to believe that all hope is lost and the world is on an express train to Hell, you encounter a speed bump that makes you believe that we might just have a chance. So here is a YouTube video that doesn’t display people acting a fool, mocking or humiliating others. I am not a Tori Amo fan. Never heard this song before. Actually spent far too much time trying to deconstruct it.
I gave up and decided to just listen and look at the faces of the kids as they sing and the power of music to touch the soul. That is what drives me nuts about music today. It could be so powerful in some way other than fulfilling the masturbatory dreams of a tiny group of people. Maybe that is why it has been corrupted, to keep music from talking about something as wild and crazy at the fact that you could live a life without limits.
These children are from the chorus of PS22. The chorus is made up of a group of fifth graders. They have their own blog and if you ever have one of those days when you can’t take another story about foolishness, carnage and utter stupidity, it is a nice change of pace.
I work with the PS22 chorus, an incredible bunch of NYC public school 5th graders! The chorus has performed all over New York, and have gained quite a following on the internet, particularly with Tori Amos fans. They’ve sung with Tori, Judy Torres, Lena, and have also performed for Marcia Gay Harden, Matthew Modine, CNN’s Paula Zahn, Senator Charles Schumer, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg. PS22 Chorus
I posted a comment on their blog asking about donations. There is a fund set up by a private group and you can donate to the fund, but they don’t advertise it on the internet. You can email the teacher directly for any info.
A little reminder that all school children aren’t carrying steak knives, handcuffs and paper weights to school. There is hope.
Wow, since we originally posted about the Abortion Man clip on Tuesday, This story got picked up by Racialicious, Jezebel, Stereohyped, Huffington Post, Salon.com, Michelle Malkin, Life News, and others. You should read some of the comments on these other blogs. Like the initial discussion here, people are debating what, if anything, to do about the clip, whether it is satire, whether it is condemning men who attack pregnant women, displaying Wayan’s sick/lack of humor, or yet again making light of violence against women:
I want to make a video now called vasectomywoman. I’ll star in it. A woman gets pregnant because her boyfriend refuses to use a condom, so she calls out the window for help. I’ll fly up in a spandex suit with a pair of scissors on the front and say “this looks like a job for vasectomywoman!” Then I ambush him in a club and beat his balls with a baseball bat so they won’t produce sperm anymore.
Cmon, violence against men and forceds sterilization of them is HILARIOUS! Don’t you think? Feministing
It is being criticized and defended by both sides of the abortion debate, but while people are pondering, please use this as an opportunity to discuss the disproportionate rate of maternal homicide among Black women.
According to the CDC, black women have a maternal homicide risk about seven times that of white women. Black women ages 25-29 are about 11 times more likely as white women in that age group to be murdered while pregnant or in the year after childbirth. CBS News
Think about that. ELEVEN TIMES more likely to die while pregnant if you are 25 to 29.
YouTube Ads Gone…for now YouTube appears to have removed the scrolling ads from Damon Wayan’s “Abortion Man” clip page. However, the scrolling ads are still running on the pages containing other WAYOUTTV clips such as “The Black Hulk” and the expletive filled “hooked on Honest”- Best Western and Toyota ads are still running on those pages. So clearly someone at YouTube got a clue and figured out that Abortion Man was not the best platform to try to sell cars, cocoa and hotel rooms no matter how many people look at the clip.
Letter to Toyota For an example of the letter that were sent to Toyota, you can read the letter DJ Black Adam sent to Mike Michels at Toyota. Beacuse Wayans may have the right to produce this foolishness, but consumers are not required to pay for it.
I need to give a hat tip to Yobachi over at Black Perspective for the link to the YouTube clip, he asked us about it in the Afrospear Google Group. Continue the discussion.
Alicia Keys apparently thinks the guv’ment conspired to write, produce, and disseminate gangsta’ rap.
We’ve been talking about Keys’s early jones for the Notorious B.I.G. “My favorite Biggie song is ‘Me & My Bitch,’” she says, licking a stray globule of jam off her finger. “That title doesn’t make you think he’s speaking about the love of his life, but he is. She throws his shit out the window, she flushes his drugs down the toilet—she’s crazy! But if you grew up like that, then you understood, that was love in that world.”
We ask what other gangsta rappers she liked. And that’s when Keys drives a steamroller through the wall.
“‘Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other,” she says, putting down the sandwich. “‘Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist.”
Come again? A ploy by whom?
She looks at us like it’s the dumbest question in the world. “The government.” BLENDER
Well the great philosopher “Half-a- Dolla’” offered the following response. Hat Tip Mo’ Kelly Report
“I don’t like Alicia Keys no more.“If you don’t like the content that I write because of my experiences; I am being who I am when I am writing it.
“If she don’t like that, I don’t like that classical music s**t she be doing. At some point she’s playing some s**t that don’t relate to me. We listen to it and try to figure out why people actually enjoy it.” SUN
I think they both are wrong. The guv’ment had nothing to do with the promulgation of gansta’ rap other than deregulating telecom and other media in order to allow a handful of people to control radio, television, magazines and newspapers/ This means a small group of people get to decide what we hear, and more importantly, what we do not hear.
The reason all we hear is about B*tches, Bullets, and Bling is because that fits the stereotypes large corporate interests have of us. I was on a panel recently with a record executive and they said “we’re giving the people what they want.” Really? Is that all we want or are you telling us what to want. I don’t know if it is intentional or a conspiracy , but I do think that the people who fund the foolishness are most comfortable when Black people are acting a fool– when we’re shooting each other, or being depicted as sexually promiscuous, criminal , violent. I mean they might as well take “Birth of a Nation” and set it to a beat.
If you really want to be RADICAL in 2008, start talking about excess and opulence and the modern say slavery of being so far up in debt to maintain the bling bling lifestyle that you’re one cell phone bill with some overage charges away from financial crisis.
If you really want to be radical, stop talking about shooting up people as if that is some heroic act. YOU aren’t doing anything, the gun is doing all the work. Talk about the fact that half of the people who die in this country are Black while we make up less than a quarter of the population.
If you really want to be radical, talk about some woman other than yo’ Mama, yo Baby Mama, and strippers.
We always want to blame the guv’ment for EVERYTHING while letting large corporations skate away.
The Guv’ment Overstepping Its Bounds Now if you want to criticize the guv’ment for tis role in promulgating gangsta’ rap, look to Georgia. Recently in Georgia, the United States Attorney declared that we are so bereft of role models in the Black community that he went light on gangsta rapper T.I. who was charged with some serious gun-related crimes. Why? Well because T.I. and his lawyers concocted what they sold as a “crime prevention” plan whereby T.I. would speak to young “at risk” kids about
Now in this case, I believe that the guv’ment is imposing gangsta culture on our community, in particular showing reckless disregard for young “at risk” kids. Who i the federal government to declare who black folks role models ought to be . Second how paternalistic to say that T.I. is good enough for us. I seriously doubt TI will be speaking in some rural white exburb, the parents would raise a fit. However some in our community are lining up to introduce Mr. Harris into the lives if Black children.
The Rev. Daniel L. Edwards III, president of NAACP’s Henry County branch, said he will invite Harris. “We want to come up with a way to use his celebrity status and use him as a spokesman to reach the masses,” Edwards said. “They need to hear: Gangs are not cool, jails are not cool, guns and violence are not cool.” According to court records, actress Journee Smollett, who starred in “The Great Debators,” wants Harris to speak to her “Catch Me Before I Fall Initiative,” which taps celebrities to speak about the dangers of gangs and drugs. Harris has also agreed to do public service announcements and teach classes for “It’s Cool To Be Smart,” a component of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, court records said. AJC
Boys and Girls Club, is it really “Cool” to be “Smart”? If so, why are you inviting someone who was so dumb? Well apparently the Boys and Girls Clubs and the recording industry are “conspiring” to keep T.I. out of jail because local districts in Atlanta are backing away from offers to have T.I. speak to their students. My question is, what fool scheduled him to speak in the first place:
The rapper’s upcoming visit at Pebblebrook in Cobb County was canceled due to recent gang activity involving students, as well as the recent death of a pupil. The Fulton County school district has banned T.I. from ever making appearances due to his gun conviction. EURweb
Cobb County went through the trouble of making a clarification because they don’t want to leave the impression that a convicted felon is banned from their district:
A school district spokesman clarified that T.I. hasn’t been banned in the county overall, just that with recent gang problems and the death of one student, it’s not a good time. SOHH
When is a good time Cobb County?
But back to the Boys and Girls Clubs, I Googled Its Cool 2 B Smart hoping that this was some type of error in judgement on the part of the Boys and Girls Club, NOPE apparently this is systemic within the Boys and Girls Club…they are partnering/partnered with BET and it all is a creation of Atlantic Records. This is such a scam and the guv’ment fell for it. How is it community service when your record label has already had the program in place for years?:
In 2005-2006 the Atlantic Records “Single Parent Initiative” has collaborated with BET 106 & Park to pay tribute to teens girls of the Boys & Girls Clubs from the Gulf Coast regions. Beginning in October-2005, the Single Parent Initiative will select Artist from the music industry to sponsor teen girls to come on BET 106 & Park whom are currently residing at the Boys & Girls Clubs from in Los Angeles, Houston, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Dallas, Atlanta and Baton Rouge. To support the efforts of BET 106 & Park, the “Single Parent Initiative” has partnered with other Artist which has included in September, T.I., PSC; October, Paul Wall; November, Song Writer Sean Garrett, whose credits list includes Usher “Yeah”, Destiny Child “Loose my Breath” & “Soldier” and Ciara “My Goodies” just to name a few; in December, Olivia with G-Unit; to kick off in 2006 January, Eve; February, Young Bloodz. The Audience Coordinator of BET 106 & Park/ BET Specials; Alicia M. Allen, has organized these sponsored events since October. Its Cool 2 Be smart
According to the website, the sponsors of Its Cool 2 B Smart are Bad Boy Records, Def Jam Records, Jive Records, J Records Columbia, Universal…The US Attorney has been hustled. I am looking for the initiative on the Boys and Girls Club website and I can’t find any links so I am wondering if this is still operable or whether it was resurrected for TI’s benefit. The web site hasn’t been updated since 2006. Is Its Cool 2 B Smart the community service agency of choice for the Entertainment Industrial complex? Y’all let me know
You can contact the Boys and Girls Clubs of America with this contact form. Am I the only one that finds it ironic that the industry that has launched a concerted effort to promote values which destroy the Black family and place children in increasing peril in their neighborhoods, to the point that a Boys and Girls Club may be their only refuge, is partnering with the organization? Again, should TI, Paul Wall, and Olivia be the standard bearers and impart lessons about values and character to young Black children? I say “NO!”. When the guv’ment is the one directing the foolishness, we all ought to scream from the tops of our lungs “NO! “
If you didn’t get a chance to participate in the rumble in the podcast jungle last night, we had lots of strong reactions and this by far was the most mentally demanding show of the entire year. By all means, share your thoughts and views.
If you are a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL who participates in research or public education related to HIV and you want to be on the panel for our show on HIV in the Black community send an email to whataboutourdaughters at gmail dot com. Put HIV in the subject heading so I can pick it out.
Have y’all ever been watching the news of some big conference or event where there are protests and the police set up a special protest area about 2 blocks away surrounded by barricades for the good folks to express themselves?
As some of you know, a few weeks ago, The Parents Television Council released a damning report tracking BET and MTV’s afternoon programming. They tracked ever expletive, every violent act, every scene with sexual overtones. In other words, they documented what we already knew, its basically soft porn int he afternoon for the kiddies while you are at work paying for the cable that is corrupting the minds of the tots.
Well anyway, you don’t get to be one of the largest consumer goods companies in the world by being slow on the uptake. P&G in anticipation of some public outrage at the fact that they appear to be the largest funder of the Regime of B*tches, Booty and Bling, has set up a special 1-800 number for you to log whether you think they should “change” their advertising on BET or continue with their current funding of the War on Black Women, Men, and Children. If you want to participate in the poll, here are the instructions:
Proctor & Gamble Contact Information
Please call (800) 331-3774.
Then, press 1 for “English”. You will then be prompted as follows:
“Thank you for calling P&G. If you are calling about our advertising on BET & MTV, please press 1.”
(press “1″ here)
The message will then say,
“We appreciate your taking the time out of your day to share your thoughts with us. For your convenience, we’ve set up this quick and easy way for you to register your opinion. If you would like us to change our advertising on BET & MTV, please press 1. If you would like us to continue our current advertising on BET, please press 2.”
(Press “1″ here)
You will then hear – “Your opinion has been counted and is being shared with the appropriate people in our company. For more information on our company, please visit us at www.pg.com. Thank you.” END OF RECORDING!
Now this appears to only work M-F ESTduring regular business hours because apparently the computer does not work overtime. The line is now open 24/7- there was a “technical error.”
This right here is ingenious. Why? Because Proctor & Gamble can’t lose. They’ve managed to direct any ire we might have directed at their board of directors or executives and channeled it into a tidy 1-800 number. They don’t have to expend human resources logging your dissatisfaction and they look proactive. All that being said, I think you should call and ask your friends to call, but I do have some questions regarding whether or not this information is going used and in what way will it be used. I didn’t know corporate responsibility was based on polls.
My questions are:
When does the poll end?
Who exactly are the “appropriate people” that the information will be released to?
Is there going to be any independent judge of how many people called in to say yeah or nay?
Just how many votes are required for P&G to vote BET off the island?
When P&G says change, do they mean merely shift their ads to other periods of programming during the day?
When will Proctor & Gamble be releasing what if any decision it will be making based on the poll?
Why do you need a poll to tell you what the responsible thing is as it relates to running ads in between videos talking about “gushy” ( according to the PTC this means a lubricated vagina—who knew?”)
If P&G ends up changing or creating any guidelines as it related to BET and MTV, General Motors and McDonald’s would almost have to follow because who wants to be left “out there.”We’ll keep you posted. Hat Tip to the folks at Industry Ears.
Hat Tip to Mo’ Kelly- This is a continuing series of our coverage of the Bynum Weeks Dramedy
April 23, 2008, PEARLY GATES, Heaven (AP)IN a surprising development in the never ending saga, that is the never ending unwinding of their very short marriage, Juanita Bynum wife of Bishop Thomas Weeks, aka “Tommy the Hit Man” is going on Divorce Court to give “advice” to a couple in distress.
Televangelist Juanita Bynum says in a two-part episode of “Divorce Court” that she’s through with her marriage to minister Thomas W. Weeks III, who is on probation for assaulting her.In episodes scheduled to air Thursday and Friday, Bynum also says she had thoughts of suicide and weighs in on a case involving domestic violence. When asked what advice she had for women in situations similar to hers, she said, “I have to make a decision … to take the love that I had for him with me.”In a transcript of the show obtained by The Associated Press, Bynum said she would always love Weeks, but made a decision to “love me more.” AP
When reached by the Associated Press for comment, the Lord Almighty issued the following statement:
It has come to my attention that several media outlets have been attempting to reach me for comment regarding the dissolution of the marriage of a Juanita Bynum Weeks and a Thomas Weeks, who proclaims to be a bishop of some sort. I am aware that the Prophetess is planning to go on something called DIVORCE COURT.
I would like to go on the record as saying, I do not now nor have I ever known Juanita Bynum Weeks or Thomas Weeks . I don’t have anything to do with these people.I don’t know who they are talking about. It is my sincerest hope that they will cease and desist from representing to the world that they are in any way associated with me , Heaven, the Pearly Gates and anyone or anything mentioned between the books Genesis and Revelations. Please direct all future inquiries regarding these two to Hell.
Eternally Yours…OR NOT
The Lord Almighty
Read our previous dispatches from Heaven and Hell:
To those wondering why I have mocked these people, I say why not? They’ve been making a mockery out of each other and us for almost six months. Write the book. Complete the reality show and be done already!
We’ve already covered the fact that Damon Wayans is contemptuous of Black women. But just when you think he could not have sunk to the lowest of the low, he pulls out a shovel and starts digging “I can go lower! I can go lower!” See the magnitude of the Black woman hate in his latest offering on his YouTube Channel called “Abortion Man”
In the clip a young teenage girl calls her boyfriend to announce she is pregnant. After he belies her fear that he is angry, she expresses her happiness about the prospect of having a baby. Immediately after hanging up the phone with his girlfriend, the boyfriend sticks his head out the window and calls for help from Abortion Man, a “super hero’ with his chest emblazoned with a baby with a red line drawn through it. Abortion Man then goes to accost the teen girl as she is walking on a sidewalk. He calls her a “fein” and then ‘ punches and knees her in her stomach. She falls to the ground where he stumps on her stomach and a bloody baby flies out of her womb.
Abortion Man is touted as the solution to one of man’s most daunting fears. Really? Brutalizing pregnant women is a solution? Just for some perspective:
According to the CDC, black women have a maternal homicide risk about seven times that of white women. Black women ages 25-29 are about 11 times more likely as white women in that age group to be murdered while pregnant or in the year after childbirth. CBS News
“Abortion Man” is a burning cross. Its hate imagery that would make Joseph Goebbels proud. That isn’t even addressing a slander on Black men.
Unlike his video for “Sniggers” a candy bar shaped like a Black male penis, YouTube has placed no age restriction on “Abortion Man.” Kids apparently need to be protected from candy penises, but no such age controls are needed when you depict a violent attack on a pregnant Black girls.
By the way, Toyota is running ads on the WayOutTV YouTube Page. All you Black folks rolling around in Camrys are supporting this foolishness right here.
Where are the black folks creating content that is funny without having to rely being hateful towards Black women and girls? They have to be out there.
Watch his idiotic comments on The View in support of Don Imus:
Regular readers of this blog know that I have repeatedly spoken out about how the defenders of Genarlow Wilson like to downplay the gruesome facts regarding what happened in the hotel room between Genarlow Wilson, his five buddies and two teenage girls that ended with his criminal charges.(Morehouse Man? Genarlow Wilson, Rapist and Child Pornographer Gets a Fresh Start- -What About the Girls, January 22, 2008) In particular, I have continued to point out how the 17- year-old girl has been completely excised from the Genarlow Wilson story. Here is a description of what happened to her:
The videotape was “Exhibit A” because it depicts a horrific crime: a gang rape of a semi-conscious, 17-year-old girl, followed by a bizarre display of sexual precociousness by a 15-year-old girl. That’s the truth recorded by Genarlow and his friends that fateful night. I suspect that is also why Ms. Bernstein hated it whenever McDade used it to rebut her version of Genarlow’s crime.
No matter how much (two glasses of Cognac) the 17-year-old may have had to drink, no matter how much she may have flirted with those boys, she did not consent to having sex with all of them, one right after the other. Yet it never occurred to the “smart” and “spiritual” Genarlow to say, “Stop it. We should not be doing this.” No. Genarlow watched, waited and gladly took his turn. When they were through raping her, Genarlow helped his friends drag the comatose victim to the bathroom. They opened the door, pushed her in, watched as she fell to the floor and closed the door. I guess she wasn’t much fun anymore.SOURCE
In the Genarlow Wilson case, the 17 year old girl woke up the next morning alone and naked in the hotel room. She had been left behind like trash by Mr. Wilson and his buddies once they got through with her. What if she didn’t wake up the next morning.?
In a case eerily similar to what happened to the 17-year-old girl in the Genarlow Wilson case, a group of teens got together in a booze fueled party and when the girl passed out drunk, the two boys took turns raping her and then just like Genarlow Wilson and his buddies, they left her naked body laying there and walked away. Except unlike the 17-year-old girl in the Genarlow Wilson story, the 15-year-old in this case out of Philadelphia did not wake up:
At first, the circumstances of her death were a mystery. Then, investigators pieced together her last day of life – a day of horror, binge-drinking and what police say was rape.
Kierra, who would have turned 16 on May 24, decided to skip school that day and hang out with two male schoolmates, one 16 years old, the other 17, police said.
Kierra and the two other teens guzzled an assortment of hard liquor, including rum and peach schnapps, from a makeshift bar set up in the dining room, police said. The binge lasted hours. In a drunken haze, Kierra lost consciousness. That’s when the boys took turns raping her, then left the house, police said. It’s unclear if she was still alive.
When the 17-year-old boy’s mother came home from a doctor’s appointment at about 4 p.m., her son wasn’t home. She discovered Kierra, half naked, on a weight bench in her basement, police said. But the mother didn’t call police, said Homicide Lt. Philip Riehl, one of the investigators assigned to Kierra’s case. Nor did she try to resuscitate her, he said.
The mother, who has one leg amputated and is battling cancer, told police she panicked, Riehl said. She waited about an hour until her son returned home. Then she called 9-1-1 for help, Riehl said. It’s unclear what the teen told his mom.Medics pronounced Kierra dead at 5:08 p.m. at the 17-year-old’s house.Kierra died of alcohol poisoning, said Jeff Moran, spokesman for the Medical Examiner’s Office. Her blood alcohol level was .433, five times the legal limit in Pennsylvania, police said.
The two boys have been charged with rape, indecent sexual assault, simple assault and conspiracy. They are charged as juveniles, but the District Attorney’s Office has requested a certification hearing in Family Court to request that the boys be charged as adults. (A wild but promising teen’s life ends in a drunken, repellent act)
I know there are those of you who do not feel that it is a criminal act to have sex with an unconscious individual and then leave them behind like trash. In the minds of many, girls who drink around a group of guys deserve whatever happens to them. The boys on the other hand are not held to the same standard. Don’t they deserve whatever happens to them, including criminal charges which may result?
I predict plenty of rallies on behalf of the boys. However, none for the girl’s family… they’ll be vilified eventually for having a daughter that was “too fast” or “hot to trot.” The boy’s families on the other hand will receive sympathy and support, because they are just “young boys” who “made error in judgment” they don’t “deserve” to have to pay for their mistakes with “their lives.” I don’t predict any such sympathy for Kierra.
Let’s just stipulate that the Kierra was not pure as the driven snow. To save everyone in the comments from chronicling her numerous failings and “bad acts.” Y’all are going to do it anyway. She was kicked out of school for having sex on school grounds, she had a baby at the age of 14- no mention about the age of the father. This was a child with some serious issues and apparently the line of people who wanted to benefit from those issues was long.
I just wish the reporter Christine Olley had given us more insight into WHY. The article chronicles all the bad acts of a dead teenage Black girl who suffocated on her own vomit, but I know she didn’t come into this world wanting to get pregnant at 13 and die at 15. There is a back story here and I wish they had been so eager to share that as they were to share a list of all of Kierra’s transgressions. They told us she was “wild” but some helpful reporting might have sought to uncover “why.” What pained this child so much that she had to drink enough alcohol to embalm herself?
Hat Tip to WAOD reader Monica G. for the story about Kierra Johnson. May she find the peace in death that clearly eluded her in life.
It is being criticized and defended by both sides of the abortion debate, but while people are pondering, please use this as an opportunity to discuss the disproportionate rate of maternal homicide among Black women.
